I feel like this explains the situation poorly. He didn't "forget" it's like saying you forgot how to talk, like your mind blipped for a long period of time on how to say words. That obviously doesn't happen. He had a hard time coming up with good ideas and when it comes to top tier animation, it's the most important thing. If the idea sucks it all sucks but on a technical level it was probably still amazing. He was just being self deprecating when he said he forgot. So more accurately his mind was not working at an efficient capacity to allow him to think at all because he was way too stressed. It's just stress.
@zeldaweeb17389 күн бұрын
Yeah it’s kinda like forgetting how something functions. I’ve had music blocks many times where the instrument just stops making sense in how it works or my fingers just lose all memory of how to do what they once could do.
@SoulHydron3 күн бұрын
I think it was prob more of a technical thing. Animation is both technical and artistic- its kinda similar to acting. I also believe animators are usually not the ones that decide on the ideas, rather their job is mostly to execute the performance in a scene. I think he might've literally had a hard time making his shots look good and nothing was working. Like how sometimes artists find that they hate everything they try to draw and feel stuck. But yeah sounds like his mind was stressed and needed rest

I'm a 3D animator, it happened to me too, but I told my compagny right when it started to happen. They understood and were very nice, I left my job because it was the beginning of a huge burnout (two years ago and I'm still having consequences now.) They told me that they would still re employ me when I'll feel better. But the truth is I don't know if I can animate for the rest of my life. It's a wonderful job, I had amazing years, but the pressure, my gosh it's something they don't prepare you for in school. It's a passion-job, the pressure and the want to do better and better and better burns us out so quickly and you don't see it comming. I was an high masking autistic-adhd person too, that didn't help and now I'm on a ton of medication to only barely fonction day by bay. I'm setting animation aside for an indeterminate time and I'm focusing on a chill artisanal side buisness instead.
