I can't believe more people don't talk about this. The fold 6 is the most symmetrical fold out there and it looks soooooo much cleaner because of it. The pixel fold 2 is incredibly ugly to me. The super thick bezels and the completely asymmetrical front drive me crazy

They're squared off because it lets the device be symmetrical since the hinge side has to be square on a folding phone anyways. And It does look significantly better than the 50% super round and 50% super pointed corners of the pixel. Things go in and out of fashion all the time, but this is just a matter of practicality. Your example of the curved edges of phones is fair, but even that's not a universal thing. Just because a few reviewers don't like rounded edges doesn't mean everyone has to dislike them. I actually loved the design of my old note 20 ultra and feel the newer models have all been going backwards design-wise.

I hated that the Fold 6 front screen was smaller than average until I picked up the Pixel Fold. Being able to use the Fold 6 one handed is great. I don't know if this was Samsung's original idea for the ratio, but it honestly works out. The new square sides of the front screen make it the first Galaxy Fold phone where I feel I can use the front screen comfortably without compromise. I'm not sure now that I'd want it much bigger. Just a bit thinner.

The Fold 9 will charge with the Pixel Stand (lst and 2nd gen). All you need to do is to raise the phone by the thickness of a standard pencil. I used two standard size emery boards (fingernail files), cut them in half and trimmed them to the width of the stand, stuck them together and they worked perfectly. The Stand is slippery and the emery boards make the phone secure and should cause no marks on the phone/case unless sawed back and forth (why?) There's no problem charging in landscape mode, just slide along until it charges - no props needed. A bit Heath Robinson but it works.

The oneplus open did the foldable perfectly, the multitasking and split screen is the best of any foldable. The battery is how you want it, it lasts all day if not sometimes 2 days but charges rapidly. The hinge is fautless, not had any issues with any of the screens for any reason. And for those who might be worried about the water resistant rating... Mine has fell in a deep dirty puddle, it works perfectly fine when raining (no mistouch on wet screen) and its even been covered in Vodka (Accident on holiday). And yet it still works as good as day 1. One day it also fell out my pocket and landed screen down, no screen damage or scratches, just 2 tiny chips on the metal top left corner. Wont say it couldnt be better because theres always room for improvement, i wish it had snapdragon gen 3 not 2. And although the cameras are good, theyre not amazing compared to S24 Ultra or Pixel phones, but they are great cameras on a foldable compared to others. Theres more little things that could be improved but theyre only niggles.

I have no issues with Samsung fold battery with intensive use. You might want to optimise the background activity of the phone. Google has zero dust resistance which is a huge downside in a long term use.

Before you showed us here this foldy I was not aware how much I dislike this PIXEL hindge that has been pulled sidewise while on (my) FOLD 6 the hindge and the bezels are quasi absent.. I tought that I'll be like UUFF, I COULD GO FOR SOME OTHER BENDY INSTEAD OF THE FOLD 6 but now after all of the other OEMs had tossed out their models I am trully sodisfied with my decision.. Cherrs 🎉 P.S. While holding them side by side I can see how much Samsung has struck into my aestethics preferences with this squared/sharp cornered/"no" bezel "nor" hindge design.. I got the blue one and manage to get 0 trade in because I left my S24 ULTRA home for my mother to use but got the s pen case and the buds 3 pro within this early buy.. Buying the S24 ULTRA before the FOLD 6 also got me realy nice gifts from Samsung, the FIT 3, BUDS FE and TAB A9.. Realy nice gifts I must say

Would love to see an in depth comparison of all 3 in terms of Hinge Quality, performance, battery life, camera, and multi-tasking. Am a power-user and I’ve been wanting to buy a foldable for some time now because of the multi-tasking features but I’m super skeptical of the previously mentioned categories because it just feels wiser to use something like the s24 Ultra without having to compromise on build quality (hinges), camera reliability, software bs, battery life or performance… Would be great to multitask more but that means nothing if am paying more $ for a compromise in any one of those areas.

I was all in for the new fold but after seeing your review I'm worried about the touch sensitivity. I returned the OnePlus Open last year for that exact reason, some parts of the inner screen didn't register while scrolling. If Google borrow their tech that will be disappointing, I might go with the P9P XL. I will still try out the Fold hopefully its not widespread.

6:15 that hole punch is so ugly and dated. The Z Fold's UDC makes it so much more immersive. The quality of the UDC is absolutely fine for video calls, which is the only time you're going to use it. 8:30 Samsung's apps are often better than Google's. "Stock Android" just means "dumbed down and stripped out" at this point, or "round and colourful." 10:20 the Pixel taskbar doesn't show your four most recent apps in addition to the pinned apps like the Z Fold, does it? Also, the Z Fold's ability to use floating windows on top of split screen makes a huge difference.

The Pixel is better because it has a clean Android and not a cluttered Android like Samsung! Many apps are duplicated on Samsung, then 2 accounts and 2x cloud and photo storage etc. That annoys me so much with Samsung! If Samsung finally had a clean Android I might buy it too! I'm not a Samsung hater. I own a Galaxy S4, S8++, Note 10+ and an S10 but they all have a custom ROM. LeinageOS!

The small screen on the Samsung is perfect size for one-handed use. You get a foldable phone to obviously use the big screen most of the time. Samsungs OS is superior, you can also buy a Stylus pen for it. Samsung also has a 1TB version of the Fold.

Ive been on apple for 10 years. Looking to go to android now. Unfortunately, after seeing the insane warranty issues Samsung hit my gf with on her fold phone. I wont ever get one from Samsung. Hopefully the Google Fold is better and wont have the issue’s Samsung fold phones had. But trying to get them to warranty a phone less than a year old with NO physical issues is crazy. Denied me at two places and then told me to go to a samsung store. Thank goodness AT&T handled it for us with the extra money she pays on insurance. My buddy didnt have the warranty issue on his phone when it messed up but the new phone he got had issues a month later. He swapped to apple because of it. Beware of the Samsung foldable!

I have the new one only due to the trade in for the old one being good. The og pixel is ok but I would choose OnePlus open just due to specs and similarities. The og fold still has a better unopened screen size

Spectrum mobile offers anytime upgrades and Googles offering 450 off for the Pro Fold im trading my Z fold 6 in for the Google Pro Fold. Design is miles ahead of samsung, in my opinion. It should be in this week!

I don't see how that phone is better than the OnePlus Open. The only 2 advantages may be longer promised updates and the AI features that I have don't use because I value privacy over convenience.

here in canada, pixel 2400, samsung 1900 for certain corlor, clearly win. And as a user of both brands, I would choose samsung for sure, pixel got so many bug, and battery will shrink significantly after half year

I used to be a Samsung Guy, then the notes exploding made me choose Google, and I was with Pixel even before the Pixel was a thing, with Google"s Nexus. From that point on, I didn't have any major issues with the Pixels until I started getting overheating warnings every minute with my Pixel for things as simple as opening Google Maps. Ok the cameras were great, but the phone was already feeling dated. I saw a Galaxy Fold 3 and it made me fall back in love with Samsung. It felt heavy in my hands, more professional, and better built quality. It felt like a phone should feel in the hands, and then when I opened up, I had a huge screen to watch tiktok, youtube and scroll throuth Facebook. I was in love with my Fold 3 for a while, but was missing Pixel easy of use and cameras. Then my hopes went up when there was a rumor Google was releasing a folable phone. Of course all those hopes went down when I saw the release of the Pixel Fold and its price, Google really shot themselves in the foot by having their release foldable so expensive. With the release of the Pixel 9 line, I was defiant. There was no way I was going to buy these phones. They are way overprice for their quality. Google is trying to make them feel premium, charging way more for them, and adding features that after 1 year they will take it off because they are trying to make money forcing you to pay for monthly subcriptions. I saw their release, not much changed from pixel 8 other than software and trying to get us into subscription, but then I went into Facebook marketplace and they were selling a Pixel 9 for $490 you guys! I couldn't resist, and I t hought to myself, even if I sell my Fold 3 for $300 bucks, I only paid $190 for a brand new Pixel phone. So I took the plunge and bought Pixel 9. My thoughts: It's a great phone for $490, I would not have liked it had I paid the full price which is $799. My issues with it is the my Google account is full, and Google is playing dirty: all those "features" that the phone comes with, like photo eraser, add me, AI photo editig, video and photo fixing, none of them work if your Google account has reached its stoage limit, which is ridiculous. Even if the phone has plenty of internal storage, if your Google account if full, none of those new features will work for you. You will have a brand new phone with features that you won't be able to use because you need to either delete all of your Google stuff (like Gmail, google photos, documents, etc) or give up and pay for their subscription monthly in order to unlock those features. I WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY MORE SUBSCRIPTIONS, I refuse. If Google wants us to pay for subscriptions monthly, then they need to give their phones away for free or for $200 at the most, since we will have a monthly payment for life with them. That's ridiculous, and if we don't fight against it and let them do as they please, they will have new technology with a bunch of paywalls that we won't be able to use until we pay more, even after we already paid the original price. Let's not let them do that to us. Say no and don't buy their phones until they stop with this BS

Manufacturers should just Put in 2 3000mah (total 6000mah) batteries in the folding Phones and call it a day..... the inside screen need big backup for regular use..... the perfect middle ground would be around the 6000mah while the actual Full size Tablets have 10,000mah-12000mah batteries

How can the Pixel 9 pro fold (10mp + 5x zoom) have less max zoom than The Fold 6 (10mp + 3x zoom)? Are the numbers correct here? @TechSpurt

pixel 7 pro has only 30x zoom, my fold 4 100x. But pixel's zoom is much better. Samsung is lying I think

There's (a quite) simple explanation for that. The magnification (5x in Pixel & 3x in Samsung) is the initial zoom point of those telephoto cameras, beyond that is the work of sensor cropping & post-processing. Google just simply didn't want to crop the sensor as aggressive as Samsung. Samsung's approach is basically pushing the zoom (sensor cropping) level to the very limit & then hope for the best on the post-processing. Been personally using S23 Ultra for a while now & to be honest, beyond 10x zoom is only practical for reading aid for me (when I need to read something relatively far away from me). Aesthetic wise (aside for the 'moon shoot'), it's a no-no. Talking about sensor cropping for zoom, it's actually an old practice as it already exists even before multisensor setup become a thing.

The wireless charging is the largest concern I heard as I use those exclusively to charge. I'm not sure how they got out the door with that issue, but it could be software as well as hardware placement.
