pixio makes a great product hands down best value monitors out there. i bought the px278 personally 1440p 144 hz tn panel for $279 as the px277 was 399 still when i bought mine. for a tn panel the p278 surprised me of course not the greatest color but pretty damn good for gaming even hdr support on a tn panel which once again not the best but when its on look good. wish the px277 was 329 when i was buying a monitor a few months ago.

It's that old saying of "you get what you pay for". This isn't cheap, but it's not expensive. If you're a realist, and your budget is more price to performance based, then these are ideal.

Had tn monitors for years because I wanted high refresh rate etc but bought an ips some years ago which had 165hz as well and is one of my best purchases , could never go back to tn panel. The picture quality is shocking in comparison as you said. Enjoy mate.

The joystick-style navigation is certainly the best way to navigate an OSD. It's great to not have to feel around and hope you're pressing the right buttons. And this does look like a great value for the specs. 1440p really is the sweet spot for gaming, I think 4K is really more for video editors and people who need more screen real estate at this point

To be honest I would be happy with 95hz refresh rate, but does it work ok with Freesync? Also, do you have any video playback stutter when using 95hz? 95 is not divisible by 60 or 30, which are typical video framerates.

@@tysonallen1690 Variable refresh rate on a monitor. It syncronizes the refresh rate to the the frame rate, so there's no screen tearing when gaming.

Pretty solid price and specs, I picked up a open box gigabyte g27qc on Newegg for 260 open box with similar specs but a va panel and I’m enjoying every bit of it! I recommend to anyone looking to get into 1440p gaming on a budget.

Nice Video. I purchased this model after owning the Pixio 277H. Unfortunately the backlight bleed was a little too much to bare. I ended up purchasing the AORUS FI27Q-P instead (on sale) I lucked out and won the panel lottery as it's perfect. I still think Pixio is one of the best value brands.

The black and white test is enough for checking for dead/stuck pixel. It's ultra rare that they would show up in other background colours and if they do, they aren't noticeable in normal usage even if you look for them.

Hey Greg, I have a 32", 1440p, 144hz (display port), curved Lenovo monitor (sorry, I don't recall the model #), it's not IPS, it's VA, and I paid like $315 new about 3 months ago...it has back-light bleeding similar as you desribed with the Pixio on all black background..color reproduction is excellent, though probably slightly better on IPS monitor. It has excellent build quality...it doesn't "feel cheap". But yeah, I feel your enthusiasm, and thanks for this info. Thinking about this Pixio as a contender for my next monitor on another build/system :)👌

I got a Pixio PX329 32" 165Hz 2560X1440 monitor for $300 about a yr ago. Great price for a very decent monitor. It's been at that price for about 2 yrs now. The bottoms of the stand are very sharp and scratched up some wood furniture quite nicely even with a bit of weight absorbed by my lifting a bit. I haven't checked mine for backlight in a while but it had almost none and it was very thin toward the frame if I remember correctly.

I just got 3 of these and I absolutely love them (259 a piece on amazon at time of this writing). Bit of backlight bleed but nothing too major, put them on my triple monitor mount and they work great. Honestly for the price these things can't be beat. And this is the first time I've ever bought a trio of displays and had zero dead/stuck pixels. In the past I had the WORST luck with that. So I finally have a trio of displays manufactured same day, same batch, so they color match out of the box :D.

@@40k10 Honestly I'd say it's worth it, I never see the backlight bleed if I'm looking at them straight on, it's only really visible if you look at a weird angle, and that's only if the image on screen is completely black.

I've had lcd monitors from the 2005 era have their psu die and I still have one of those monitors left that has an external brick, it's the second one as the first died a year ago. Certainly not modern monitors I'm talking about but these modern one's will face the same issue in about 10-15 years or so, and being budget oriented I see this as a plus. I do understand why you wouldn't like a big lump like that on your desk, but you can hide it.

Typical ips panel will average 4-6ms time. Unless you use those crazy overdrive settings which makes stuff worse

I bought the pixio 24in 1080p 144hz monitor and loved it for being only $160 USD. I ended up gifting it to my niece as part of a whole gaming setup I gave her and she's in awe. I would recommend putting the monitor on a different stand or a monitor arm, but that's a creature comforts over anything. Great product from pixio.

Around 10:08, I have a G27Q that you show right there, and it says 144hz on whatever post you've shown, but I assure you, I purchased mine FROM Newegg as well, because it was actually $30 cheaper because of a deal, only like $347 after shipping+taxes.... BUT anyways, is 60/144hz capable, but it can also be OCed to 165hz, the way the box ships and the post was listed it said "27" 1440p 144hz (165hz OC) 1ms IPS". Just in case anyone was wondering.

Here in the UK there is a budget brand called EG that popped up not too long ago, and their value is pretty incredible. They have a model with similar spec to this, 144hz, 1440p, 1ms response time, 27 inch display at around £220 ($300ish) give or take £10. It's also Freesync, and G-Sync compatible (unofficially). The only difference really is that it's TN instead of IPS; but from personal experience the viewing angles on it are great.

I bought a Pixio Prime 7 hoping it was going to be good for the value. I can assure you I was not disappointed! The colors were vibrant and a crisp picture. There is back light bleed but I couldn't tell at all while gaming, on KZbin or on Phasmophobia either being thats a dark game. My panel came with a screwdriver so I was surprised you didn't get one. I kinda wanna get another Pixio 🤔

One thing that always bothers me, about any flat panel monitor, is the whole "Hey look how thin our bezels are" but then you get a black border that defeats the object anyway. Yes it's more aesthetically pleasing but it's not like it enables the display to go (almost) right to the edge anyway.

I have the px329 it’s a VA 1440p 165hz 32” monitor and I got it when it released for $399 (I think) but I haven’t had any problems with it at all and Hardware Unboxed did a review and gave out the settings for dialing in the monitor and 32” is great for gaming , I love it!!!

Just picked this up off newegg for $454 cad ($347 usd) I'm hyped! It's my first 1440p display coming from a TN 144hz 1080p. I've had IPS before but at 60hz 1080p and the ghosting and response sucked so I'm excited to check this one out. Also, with zen 3 and rtx 30 series being available in the next few months this monitor is gonna be looking juicy

Acer VG271U can be found on sale at $270, 1440p 144hz IPS w/ GSYNC compatibility (not full gsync, just gsync compatible). I have it and I must say it looks damn good.

The top looks like backlight bleed but the bottom I think is just IPS glow. You can tell if you tilt it or crouch down and look up at it it's just IPS glow. Basically only noticeable on completely black screen. I've used a bunch of high end IPS screens and never had one that didn't have IPS glow in the bottom left and right corners.

Are you sure you're filming at 30fps. At 4:15 you can see a difference in the ufo stuttering at 41 fps but it looks fluid and the same at 83 and 165 fps

Picked up the gigabyte m27q just a few days ago at 342. the usb c port,kvm function and height adjustable stand were worth the few extra bucks. there is the last year generation G27Q at 319 with the same stand it just doesnt have the new 0.5ms display and kvm,usb c port features.

? I was on about high refresh rate gaming. 4K/120 panels are _expensive._ Not even in the same price category as this. And I'd much rather game at 1440p/144 than 4K/60. That what I was on about...

Just got this monitor for my new pc. Only bad thing is I was told my CPU (Ryzen 5 3600) and my GPU (RTX 1660 Ti) were made for 1080p gaming not 1440p. I'm new to gaming and did not know this at the time. As long as I get at least 60 fps ill be fine. Are these realistic expectations?

you can run games at 1080p even on your 1440p monitor, just gotta go into your games video settings
