'Parinita' is written by Sarat Chandra Chattapadhhayay, one of greatest writers of bengali literature (which is probably the richest language of india in terms of literature) . He had also written ' Devdas' another novel which has been turned into countless films

It is a beautiful song. Beautiful in its simplicity. There are two more from this movie that I simply adore. Soona Man Ka Aangan (Set on Tagore's tune ) Raat hamari Toh. (Its the lyrics that get me every time) By the way Parineeta (the novella) was written by the same author as Devdas - Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay.

The novella this movie was based on was actually written by the same author who wrote the novel for Devdas! I like this film miles better than the 2002 Devdas with SRK though, there's little to no melodramatic acting in this which I'm sure Korbin will be happy to hear. This was the director's debut film and he won a National Award for it, so that's quality confirmed for you :)
