Here's the trailer: Duck Hunt game begins. Dog jumps into grass. Ducks fly up. Bang bang. Ducks fall. Dog pops up holding ducks, yadda yadda. There's rustling in the grass. Big "POINK" sound. Dog goes flying out of the grass, yelping. Tall leek is seen rising from grass where dog used to be. Sirfetch'd steps out into view. Sudden art shift into good graphics. "Sirfetch'd Gets Leeked!"

I think Meteor Assault should have *huge* end lag, to reference how you need to recharge after using it, but a lot damage, like skewer or rest, and a lot of kill power horizontally. Also, I think brave bird should be a super long recovery, with lots of kill power and damage, but it is predictable and deals self damage, because it deals recoil damage in the games. Also, the final smash should briefly slow enemies, like it does in the games, to compensate for its lack of horizontal range that can easily be escaped

That art is breathtaking. I think, more than any other fighter thus far, Sirfetch’d has been the easiest to visualize in Smash because of this. It’d take WAY too long for For Smashes to come out if they were ALL produced like this, but I’d love to see this guy do another For Smash if the opportunity arose!

even if this would be probably the best representation of SwSh, if there's going to be a new pokemon, they'll almost certainly go with Urshifu. It would make sense: it's in both games (as DLC), it looks like a kung-fu fighter and it will promote the DLC... But regardless of this, since I don't like Urshifu, I really hope they choose Sirfetch'd!

I personally want Morgrem as a gen 8 rep. I know that it's a middle evolution and those tend to be overshadowed by 1st and 3rd stage Pokémon but I really like its design and I think it would be a more interesting trickster-type character than Grimmsnarl because Grimmsnarl's size would make it reminiscent of Incineroar. With moves like False Surrender, Play Rough, Sucker Punch, and Flatter, I think the little devil could be really interesting in Smash.

It just dawned on me the down special is literally the Rivals of Aether parry mechanic. You parry instead of shielding and if you parry a physical attack, the opponent is put in a sort of dizzy state and if you parry a projectile, it reflects it.

If we DID get a Gen 8 Rep, I think we'd probably get one of the starters, preferrably Rillaboom. But Sirfetched is definitely an interesting choice.

I do not believe Rillaboom would be selected simply because of the type and such. Rillaboom did catch on in the Pokemon community, so if we did get one as a new Pokemon, being a Grass-type would just be icing on the cake.

On one hand, I worry that a keep away based swordsman would end up being Marth 2 in usage. But I like how Sir Fetched ended up with this. I feel like the more basic normals actually work well to highlight his mechanical aesthetic and causes the specials to feel more impactful. Especially the shield slap, which is a very fitting defensive tool for a character of this nature that I'm surprised only Hero shares (albeit in a different fashion, given its a side tilt with them).

There are 2 main reasons I personally believe that a Gen 8 mon is inevitable #1. Pokemon has always gotten 2 "reveals" in every Smash game 64: Pikachu and Jigglypuff Melee: Pichu and Mewtwo Brawl: Lucario and Pokemon Trainer Smash 4: Charizard and Greninja #2. Pokemon has not received a new stage yet for Ultimate something it also consistently receives every game Combine that with the similar logic as to why Fire Emblem continuously receives new characters,the one's already present are insufficient to promote the most recent game in the series and I don't see why we wouldn't get one

Charizard in Smash 4 really doesn't count, as it's technically been a fighter since Brawl, just one-third of Pokemon Trainer's move sets. But you're right about not having a new Pokemon stage, as there wasn't one with an Alolan setting, but likely due to timing and how far into the development Smash Ultimate already was. And we did get Byleth from Three Houses, but only sort of as a promotion because the game was already out at the time. Some fans thought Fire Emblem was inevitable while I was skeptical at first, but when Byleth did come, they were up in arms, as if they thought it shouldn't have happened. Maybe I should sense some delicious tears...

Smash Ultimate had a Spirit Board event that added a few new Spirits from Pokemon Sword/Shield into the game. While this does make me rather skeptical that Nintendo would have decided on a new Pokemon at all, I'm still down for the idea. With half the Fighter's Pass Vol. 2 revealed, it's impossible to predict who might be next.

My take on the alts: Red and Lavender - Oricorio Yellow - Psyduck Pink - Spritzee Blue - Cramorant Tbh I think a new Pokemon is a given. I'm not super expecting one, though I won't be shocked if they do. I feel like it'd be either a starter, Toxtricity, or Sirfetch'd, cuz out of all of Gen 8 they have the most personality imo This moveset's really good too, Sirfetch'd would make for another great 'distance demon' as Sakurai calls it

My favourite Galarian Pokemon and one of my favourite Pokemon of all time. If it wasn't for how long I've been waiting for Meowth, Sirfetch'd would probably be my favourite Pokemon choice alongside Gardevoir and Gengar, though if I had to add some Pokemon I'd add Meowth and Eevee first. I would LOVE to see Sirfetch'd in a Pokken 2 like game though, I wanted Farfetch'd as playable for the first one. Speaking of Eevee, I'm curious if you have any ideas how its evolution mechanic could be implemented given your creativity with this series.

In the Pokémon Manga, Red had an Eevee that can transform between Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon at will. An Eevee with that concept of “brief transformations,” expanded with newer evolutions, for each move would be pretty cool. Otherwise, I’d say just use the Let’s Go Eevee, representing its evolutions purely through a variety of elemental attacks.

I'd imagine you could have the evolution mechanic be permanent per stock if you don't want to involve devolution, basically treating every Eevee per stock as if they're new ones. Main concern that comes to me is if it'd be viable to give them all proper animations, then again they managed to do it with the Koopalings, granted they are in a more stationary role controlling a clown car.

You know, there's one aspect about that whole thing that confuses me. I am in agreement that characters who had spirits in events like that are probably out of the running. Not because programming them would be impossible (it wouldn't) but because of the thought that they would choose not to give those characters spirits if they were going to make them playable. Here's the thing though. I only think that applies to, as I said, characters who had spirits in those events. And most of the Gen 8 Pokemon people speculate to be playable, didn't have any spirits in that event. It makes you wonder.

I think Toxtricity would be the best option. Toxtricity is probably the most loved galar pokemon. Also if a Pokemon from galar was added to the game it should probably have Gigant-max as the final smash as a oppose to Dynamax. Of course Toxtricity would slam the stage with his literal electric guitar causing poison or for opponents to get stunned in reference to how the move either poisons or causes paralysis. Also the neutral special could involve overdrive the signature move of Toxtricity. The colors could to different alts Low key and amped form with costumes that reference team yell and obstagoon. You know what maybe a victory animation could involve them performing in front of team yell.

His design in general would make it more difficult due to the other starters having an easier design to make the moveset, and you know the others having more popularity

I do not believe Rillaboom would be added just because of its type. But I am aware that Rillaboom did catch on in the Pokemon community.
