Beside this being one of my favorite “laugh ‘til you choke” films, I marvel at the stunts. Many were so dangerous, I don’t care how many mirrors they used, this was legitimate action. When the tractor comes to a quick stop, many times I think, “They probably broke their backs!” That tractor was amazing. One of my non-action spots was when the salesman from Earthworm Tractors drank the shoe polish thinking it was liquor. Then Jackson remarks about how that was the finest whisky he ever drank.

It's too bad that none of his three baseball 'trilogy' are available, nor are the truly wonderful films from between 1930-34. I guess WB is holding out for all those who love good old humor. Thanks for this one!

I was so tense my wife could've used me as an ironing board by the first 30 minute mark. I love these films and they make me terribly tense. I can't just stop watching!!!

The manic action of the tractors running over everything is hilarious but couldn't be done today

Just think of all the fun and games they must have had making this explosive movie. Not so much a laugh a minute, more of a bang a minute. And a loud bang at that!

Joe Brown was the FIRST to take USO shows on tour, into the Pacific War Theater. It was BEFORE Bob Hope ever did it, and Joe did it all out of his own pocket, and paid for all the transportation and food and lodging for everyone on the USO tour, since the USO never got any government funding, and had no money to do the tour with. Entertainers who went along donated their services for his shows. Hope was sponsored by the movie studios he was affiliated with, so it never cost Hope any money out of his own pocket.

Takes a great salesman to sell that first product. Try houses. Try insurance. Try cars. Try unbilt and repairs on bridges. Try construction of any sort. Just make sure you can have the men that can do the job. And the materials to do so.

Love it! So funny. Innocent hilarity. But this was before those big tractor treads came to be associated with WWII.

They were used in world war I also. That's the war he was talking about. They were used to move artillery. Google caterpillar in world war I, it said they sold over 5,000 tractors to the war effort by 1918.
