It is depressing to me. On one hand it is a relic of the prosperity of the gilded age that I will never get to experience and is being rapidly dismantled all around us, and on the other hand you have an old lady who was married for like 70 years and had children but ultimately her teenage fling was still held closer to her heart, imagine being that husband or the daughter. At first when she was older and standing up in the railing I thought and was kind of hoping she was going to jump off instead of drop the necklace.
