In terms of getting a body off everest - you have no idea how difficult it is to do any level of physical work at that elevation. You're slowly dying the whole time, your muscles do not have enough oxygen to perform properly, and your brain begins to lose function rapidly. This is not to mention the risk of sudden stroke or other altitude related illness like HAPE or HACE. It's just simply too risky to get bodies down. The force of the water compressing the air is great enough to make the air spontaneously combust like a fire piston. So they were lit of fire, and then crushed into a fine mist, and then spewed out into the ocean. All in less than 3 seconds I work in carbon fiber manufacturing. I am not an enginerd, I'm just the guy that takes the plan and lays the carbon up, and actually makes the parts... As soon as I found out how this was built I was shocked. The coefficient of thermal expansion and the compressibility of the Carbon tube and the TI end caps was a recipe for disaster under these kinds of pressures. It's just bad engineering. If we get to look I suspect we will see that the failure happened at the joint where the carbon and TI met up with each other. The sub was obviously robust enough to survive a few dives but really they should have been taking X-rays of the vessel for failures after every dive.

It's not about hating billionaires or finding joy in their demise, it's about the irony of ignoring expert advice and then being surprised by the predictable outcome. It's like a dark comedy where the characters keep making the same mistakes and we, the audience, can't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. is it brave to climb into a homemade sub and go to depths it’s not designed for??? i think that’s dumb not brave.. even in a normal sub that is properly made there’s still risk so that’s brave.

Billionaires are a sign of an unhealthy system, if more of the wealth is concentrated into too few hands it’s not a good outlook on how well a society is doing. Labor creates value but if the person doing the labor holds less and less of the value they create they have less and less leverage in society. Billionaires at this point have so much capital, leverage and influence the disparity is silly. One person can buy more influence than 98% of the country, that’s an oligarchy at this point. We are quick to point out oligarchs when they’re Russian but silent as can be here in the US.

Thanks Robert Reich. It's not funny or cool that these people died because you hate rich people. The tankies once again showing how devoid of morality and humanity they really are. The labor theory of value is dangerous debunked communist garbage responsible for two world wars and perhaps even the American Civil War. Silicon Valley leans left because they're not capitalists. They are cronyists. Cronyism, by definition, being impossible without the increasing government regulation that occurred after the New Deal. You need government 'cronies' to have cronyism. Hence all the DNC billionaires.

Blame truth talking about bravery is hilarious. Dying for your country in a war is bravery. Standing up to someone is bravery. Going 13,000 feet under the ocean in a poorly built sub is not bravery, just incredibly stupid

Ya the jokes are getting a little out of hand. Pretty much turning into like a meme feeding frenzy rn for internet clout. Kinda fucked but being honest if I died in such a way.. I would kinda expect people to meme me.

It's not that they're billionaires. It's that they ignored and fired experts that's told him this would happen. Listen to James Cameron talk about it. He knew it imploded the second they told him about the banging sounds. The front window was only tested to go like 3k feet down, the owner fired that guy. They mixed metals, that's like step 1 of sub making no-nos. The owner spent so much money on this model and finally got it working and getting people on trips to recoup his investment. James Cameron said it wouldn't fail on run 1 or 2 but it would for sure fail sometime down the line and sure enough. Man's hubris and ignorance will constantly lead to his downfall.
