I really like that you flipped through your old notebooks! It shows how your style has progressed and that your notebooks didn't always look like they do now. So many of us are inspired by you, and we need to understand that you've been doing this process since Y2K (wow!!!), and that when we start our first pages they aren't going to look like we've been journaling for almost 20 years. We will learn through the process and we just need to begin! :)

Amy - I kept notebooks like that for years and years too! I plan to show mine in my next bullet journal vid. I just put up my 5 fav bujo supplies vid but I'm itching to share more. This morning I was wishing there were a bullet journal videos out there that show a combo of function, creativity and imperfection. Seeing your already loved book with great functions but still a rippled page here and there was so inspiring to me! When I watch videos of bullet journals that are basically works of art and not exactly something you jot in real quick I get discouraged about my own book. It's an intimidating world! I love watching systems that are functional for productivity, so seeing a successful business woman like yourself keeping one, has scratched that itch! THANK YOU!

I really love that you show the real journal, with all of its scrapes and in this case water spots. It's inspiring that you have a more imperfect style which actually makes it more beautiful and interesting. A lot of bullet journallers and journals are very intimidating but I feel inspired by yours to not be as worried about getting the perfect lines and such. Not to say that yours is bad, entirely the contrary! Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for YOU! :) I've loved all of your work.

Loved this video!! I loved how you are embracing the water damage to your journal! Sometimes even those imperfections can bring back memories...in the years to come you may have.flashbacks to when Jack was this age all because of the water damage to your journal. This is way off topic (haha!) but when my son, Aidan, was 2 or 3 years old he had this little tricycle that he got for his birthday from his grandparents. His birthday is in January and we live in Indiana and there was no way he could ride it outside, so we let him ride it in the house all winter long. There are little marks on our hardwood floors from the tires (that no one would ever notice but me HAHA!) and initially I was a little panicked about them, but now each time I see one I'm reminded of him at that age. It's amazing how the littlest things can spark a memory! He's 9 years old now and those little tire marks warm my heart in a way!! I try to embrace the concept of imperfections into my crafting too (as I know you do too!) Always learning. Always growing! :)

I have been using a Bullet Journal for a year and a half now and it has been life changing! Dramatic but true! I used to write things down on random pieces of paper, different notebooks and sticky notes, even napkins or backs of receipts if that's all I had. It was a disorganized mess and I couldn't find things I'd written down. The Bullet Journal has saved me and helped me be more organized. I started in a cheap but cute Target notebook and I was in love from the beginning. It all made total sense to me. When my notebook was filled I thought I'd switch to using a TN so I could have different subjects in different notebooks. This didn't work for me so I bought the dotted Leuchtturm 1917 and love it! I still might use one small TN (that I can slip in the back pocket of the Leuchtturm) for my collections - books, TV shows, movies, etc. Thanks so much for doing this video! I loved seeing your old journals - you were Bullet journaling before it was a thing!! Glad you've joined the Bullet Journal community! (My favs are Boho Berry, Tiny Ray of Sunshine and the Bullet Journal Junkies group on FB.)

I'm so happy to see you bullet journaling! You are off to a fabulous start. Although I love the worn in look, I think the water damage won't even be noticeable after march. You will see how your book edges evolve from use and it will just blend in with the happy usage. 😊

Love your journal journey. I'm a terrible cuticle picker, too. Especially if I get a hangnail at work, I used to "bite and rip" which usually never ended well (bleeding and pain). Maybe everyone knows about these, but last year I was whining about a hangnail at work and a lovely coworker said she had a travel cuticle nipper in a drawer. (This one is good quality - Cuticle Clipper by Premax.) Eureka! I bought 5 as soon as I got home. I have one in my purse, work bag, travel kit, nightstand, and bathroom.

All the best with your "bujo" journey. I am so excited to read your book. 1. Here's a question for you, Amy. One that's always had me curious about what people choose to do with it in their bullet journaling. What do you do when you fill up a list page? Like for example, your gratitude page. What's your plan for when that page gets full? Add a tip-in? Or start a new page elsewhere in the journal for that same list? 2. I totally bite & pick my cuticles too. It goes hand in hand with my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which I'm medicated for & see a therapist, but I still do it & it's a HORRIBLE HABIT! I want to quit so bad because I want to start filming process videos & not have my hands look awful. 3. I'd love to hear more about the boundaries & not letting other people downgrade your positivity. I struggle with that on a daily basis. I try to just distance myself from the negativity, but you know that's easier said than done. 4. I LOVE the page folding idea for private information! GENIUS!
@amytangerine7 жыл бұрын
1. I plan on doing a gratitude page every month. So yeah, fill up a page and make another one elsewhere :) 2. Let's keep each other accountable! I have been doing it ever since I was in junior high, so since puberty. Which is a VERY long time! 3. It is a daily practice. I will try and elaborate more on that, but honestly I think I talk about it quite a bit throughout my book, Craft a Life You Love 4. Thanks!!

Just found your videos. Love them.. I love that you found bullet journaling. Enjoy. I would suggest more colour but your do your own style that suits you. One other idea is tacking your time. Number a timeline 1 through 12 2xs and colour in your activity time. Like sleep, how long your worked on a project, block off appontment times. It works and makes you aware daily of where your time is spent. You are indeed busy lady.

Does anybody know why the (for example) Filofax is not more often used as a bullet journal? With this more flexible system, you can replace the pages and regroup pages by subject for example... I see a lot of people use a standard notebook, so I am just wundering why ... ☺️
@annikajoechler45097 жыл бұрын
I can only speak from my experience. For me my bullet journal is a tool I can take everywhere, that isn't too bulky and handy on the other side, which I can fold up and start writing. I find this things difficult to do with a Filofax for several reasons. My old Filofax was about 50$, so I would look after it very good and wouldn't take it with me everywhere. Second my fake moleskine laid flat from the beginning, with a filofax this isn't the case and when I just wanted to jot something down really fast, the rings where always in my way and just bothering me. But another system I think could be practical for bullet journaling is a discbound system. The "rings" there from most of the suppliers are much more smaller and you can add or remove pages really easy. Sorry for mistakes, English is not my mother language :)
