I remember seeing all of these Aircraft and airlines in the 90s. Fantastic memories. I used to visit the viewing terrace there. I flew out of Gatwick a few times, BA ATR 42 in the Landor livery back Then , to Guernsey and EasyJet 737 to Edinburgh. Only a kid back Then my dad took me to LGW all the time. The model store the cafe the comet cockpit, I remember something called "Skyview" . Remember seeing Delta's L1011s, Md11s Continental dc10s, Lots of 707s back then. The Alitalia Md80s I always saw those. When northwest Flew their Dc10s into LGW. Peach Air L1011s. Bcal L1011s. Jersey European. So many have now gone. LGW always use to be really busy.

Yeah not 2002, British Airways DC-10's were retired by march 1999 but there is a Laker Airways DC-10 6:02 they ceased operation in 1982?
4:38 was virgins ‘little red’ that was 2015! But some of this footage is early 90’s late 80’s? Possibly clips from different time periods?

They leased an A320 for a period in the 90s for services from Dublin, as I seem to recall
@luvstellauk7 жыл бұрын
I'd say much earlier than 2002, BA old livery, so many DC10s and L1011s especially a Calidonian DC10, Britania 767, Britania merged with Thomson in 1999 I believe and the Laker DC10? And Air UK ceased operations in 1998

Knowing more about cars than planes I spotted at least 2 MK3 fiestas in the footage which were released in 1989. That's my input. Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant upload of a timeless era of aviation Would agree it’s late 80’s early 90’s
@laurencehawkins66134 жыл бұрын
This has to be after 1996... because Laker Airways (US) commenced services for just two years between 96-98 using the DC10s and Air UK changed to KLM UK branding after 98. So 96-98 definitely.

Great footage! Could that AA 767 be the daily flight to RDU? I flew it in 2002 and while we were in London they switched to the 777 it so cool getting to fly both planes that trip!

Almost 100% positive that was 1996. Old/original Air 2000 livery and Air UK Leisure being at the South Terminal. They moved over to the North (when it was extended towards the Satellite and the Wall was built) for a season before becoming part of Air2000. Fond memories, although it will be a while before it gets that busy again...

Wow this is proper nostalgic according to the background and liveries of some airlines this has to be 1996 to 97. Emirates when they were establishing themselves, Qatar wear practically new with 747-100 and seeing MD-11s & DC10s. Continental theme still sort of around but now United Airlines. Landor livery was the best on all BA aircrafts. BA based some B747 400s from around 1997 to 2002 when there was that drastic switch from Heathrow with long haul flights which in the end didn't work out. I remember going to Los Angeles from Gatwick on BA DC10 in 1991 which will always be my most memorable holiday.

Got to be mid 90's, Continental still using DC-10's, Air UK still in service, Caledonian DC-10, Northwest DC-10'S, Laker DC-10'S, plus a few Tristars in view. Definitely not 2002
