Man, Beneath always seems to be that one that people either love or hate, usually, it seems, they hate. To me, it's always been my favorite of the original string of sequels. I really like the mutants, who scared the hell out of me as a kid, and the entire climax, it has an ending with serious balls. Of all the sequels and re-makes I think it feels the most like the original.

My theory on the Wahlberg movie ending: 1) When Wahlberg's ship appears to go forward in time, it is really going backward in time. I think he says something about the instruments not working when this happens. 2) They arrive on Earth in the distant past so they dont recognize it. 3) Because of their actions, history is changed such that the apes develop society instead of the humans (maybe the apes, having to confront the reality of the humans as more intelligent, are more aggressive in putting them down).. 4) Wahlberg then goes back to the future (although he thinks he is going to the past) and returns to a changed Earth.
@diamondem7 жыл бұрын
Personally I would have given Dawn at least 4.5 - 5 apes. It doesn't quite live up to the original but the apes are given so much depth and can make you feel overwhelming amounts of emotion in long stretches of minimal to no dialogue with the only thing keeping you going is the character performances. The only thing holding it back from the original is in my opinion is the expositional dialogue and maybe the fact that the humans never feel quite as fleshed out as the apes. I've heard War pretty much fixes those issues though so I can't wait to see it.
@TheBearlociraptr237 жыл бұрын
the only rating I disagree with is beneath. I actually love that one. I love how it goes in deeper (quite literally) into what the earth is like. I love how just truly uneasy you feel with the mutants and their religion of worshiping a nuclear bomb and the ending, while depressing, was a great warning on what could happen if we aren't careful. I get why some people might not like it. but to me, a strong 4 apes.

Christian Bale was too weak of a Batman for that to be the best rebooted series. The villains made those movies, and it really should have an emphasis on the internal conflict Batman feels if it wants to go as dark and realistic as it tried. But it didn't, and probably no fault of Bale's, moreso of the writing and directing. On topic, probably yes, best rebooted series. Mad Max was good too for a pure action flick.

The second one was a little stale but could have been better by just finding a better way of doing the bomb/escape thing. It was a bit too vague and bizarre. Another thing, if time codes are checked in all 5 films then at some point Taylor is going to crash land again.
