Plant a Rose in a Pot - Jackson and Perkins Roses

Plant a rose in a Pot. This tree rose was delivered this week from Jackson and Perkins and I needed to get it planted promptly. So I quickly made a video of me planting it to show you how.
I must confess the rose on the photo thumbnail is not the rose I am planting, I don't have any photos of it yet but I will, I hope, this summer.
When ordering roses online many times they are bare root. Getting them into the ground or into a pot as soon as possible is a good idea.
I can't plant in the ground right now, gophers and voles have been devastating my roses and other plants so this rose is getting planted into a large pot.
This is a double-grafted tree rose, one rose is Iceberg and the other is Burgundy Iceberg. Iceberg roses are pretty tough and thrive here even though I have challenging gardening circumstances. I bought the tree rose online via Jackson and Perkins website.

Jackson and Perkins roses are the best roses on the planet! I have been growing them since the 80s! And I tell you I’ve had some beautiful rose beds still growing mature and gorgeous!

Informative video. Thank you for sharing. Will you be posting an update to see this in bloom? My questions below are based on a knock-out rose being planted in a container to be placed in a part shady area in zone 9, where it will receive 6 hrs of sunlight. What kind of potting soil do you recommend for container roses? How soon should I fertilize after re-potting from the nursery container it came in? Thank you.

Yes, I will be sure to update on this. I just planted 4 more roses in containers and I will do a video on how I treat them. Any quality organic potting soil will work just fine for them. You can feed with a fish emulsion liquid feed or I use alfalfa pellets. 1 cup around the base of the rose and water in. They will dissolve with watering.

I also bought a tree rose and want to plant it in pot. Wondering how big is your pot? What is the size?

The pot is about 20 inches across the top, then tapers and bit towards the bottom and is 17 inches tall.
