I am so happy to see another person waking up to the reality of this world. A couple of years ago I almost became raw vegan, for no reason. But my body was smarter and it didn't let me, I craved fat and meat. Today I reduced my diet to meet, fat and eggs, directly from farmers. Some may say it is expensive, but I say that doctors, medication ant health issues are even more expensive. Personaly I think that both cdc and fda should take huge responsibility for the condition of todays Americans. Sugar addiction is killing us, combined with all the chemicals in food, water and air, we are walking deads. Shout out to you! Great job!

this is why we need to return to capitalism (no, we are NOT there today and haven't been since the advent of the central bank). No more subsidies to ANY corporation period. Let's see the real cost of doing business and put those out of business that aren't doing what's right. Lots of food corps will go under in the first 2 years, leaving us with actual food instead of shelf after shelf of garbage.

@@zarroth You are right, we live in crony capitalism mixed with socialism. It is not free market, it is economic fascism. Privileged companies are getting subsidies and exclusive monopoly. On the top of it is the central bank, which should be canceled as the first one.

@@zarroth Here in France we have social capitalism. We have free healthcare and education. Social security. Laws protect the people against to much greed from big business. Big companies can not do whatever they like with food or medications. There are laws that limit the amount of sugar in drinks for example. No fluoride in our water. We can buy raw dairy if we want to. Governments have to protect the people, not the big business like in the USA.

Once you are back to normal weight from overweight diabetic, you can likely stop focusing on Keto, and just eat a moderately low GI diet. Keto has a wierd focus which makes sense for a diabetic person, but not for healthy people.
@cc2020-d4w Жыл бұрын
@@peterpan408 Hi, with all due respect, I have to disagree with you on this, @peterpan408. I actually feel that Keto, is in fact the way anyone who's human is meant to eat & prosper optimally. Babies are born in Ketosis actually. Yes, we can function on sub-optimal sustenance for a while just like a piece of machinery, but in the long run, it'll catch up to us. I'm just saying that if Keto helps those that are sick to become healthy again, why would one want to go back away from it once it's helped them recover from whatever issue they've been suffering from? Why would one want to return to the old patterns & ways, habits & lifestyle that brought them to that level of disease or state of damage in the first place. And if one was actually truly healthy, why would one want to adapt a diet or lifestyle that is sub-optimal in the first place? Why not fuel & energize one's cells, mitochondria, brains & veins with something most optimal to begin with? Also, I feel the vast majority of the human population (at least in the western world) is NOT healthy at all - even if they may "look" healthy. Keto optimizes one's health & helps us remain healthy. Even those who may appear healthy who aren't eating Keto may not actually be healthy at all. One may have underlying disease lurking underneath without knowing. Let's just say, even if one appears to be healthy, they may not be at all. In fact, most aren't. My husband ate non-Keto all his 55+ years... but also didn't eat the typical SAD diet either. He ate mostly whole foods, more like the "highly revered", "gold-standard" Mediterranean diet, with olive oil, lower saturated fat, lean meats, red meat only occasionally, avoiding butter, eating oatmeal with skin milk & banana, eating low sodium, mostly vegetables & "healthy" whole grains & beans, chick peas for protein etc which landed him with heart attack at age 61 two months ago with 3 stents put in 2 major arteries with 100 & 90 % blockages. Now I have him on Keto doing the exact opposite of what the cardiac fitness rehab is recommending (the Mediterranean Diet, mostly plant based). No thank you. He's always been super lean, non smoker or drinker, he's athletic, non diabetic etc. He's had high BP since his 20's and on meds for it but that's it, he's always had really good & normal cholesterol, very low Triglycerides & high HDL. He looked very healthy but obviously wasn't. That's what eating non-Keto did for him. Everyone around him said he looked like the epitome of health. We thought so too. But, nope!!! And as for myself, I "looked" healthy too. Until... I didn't. I ended up with NASH & coming up 3yrs ago became a breast cancer survivor. I'm just saying that we may think we look healthy but most of us aren't, to be quite honest. I think Keto should be the way of life for both the "healthy" as well as the unhealthy. And by the way, update on my own journey since going mostly meat based Keto/Ketovore/Carnivore... everything has reversed. My NASH, GERD, SIBO, CANDIDA, CHRONIC FATIGUE, IBS, ASTHMA, MIGRAINS, PRE-DIABETES, the list goes on... Just wanted to share my 2 cents... no disrespect, @peterpan408 Meat on. Heal on. 🧈 🍖 🥓 🥩 🍳

Also lost 46kg,101 pounds, skin problems gone, depression gone, blood pressure 117/ 78, woeful kidney and liver function restored to normal, fatty liver gone, eyes just tested and better than 5 years ago and passed to drive without glasses. T2 Diabetes reversed and blood glucose/HbA1c perfect. 8 years of painful tennis elbow gone in 10 days, 11 years of carpal tunnel gone in 21 days, a lifetime of asthma and heart palpitations and arrythmia gone in 7 days and the list goes on and on. 11 medications to zero. Me, my family, my doctors and medical specialists all struggling with disbelief at what has happened to someone who was given 6 to 12 months to live. Biggest miracle of all is that I now look forward to exercise and can even do a 150 metre sprint. I never exercised in the past because every form of it was painful and achieved no benefit. Before you trust in the so called scientific evidence, you better research and find out who did them and what companies that have either directly paid for the studies or have sponsored the group that have done the study. You also need to understand that any study done where the result do not support what these companies want to be seen, are buried and never become public. If you do some proper research about this, you will quickly see what is going on. Crazy but I watched a ton of videos and listened to several books and came to trust it and try it. I suddenly stopped having heartburn and acid reflux! Carnivore gave me my life back. I love vegetables and always ate plenty of them, yet I just got sicker and sicker. Doctors were no help. I had had nothing but liquid stools for 10 years, and for at least five years I had been suffering from SEVERE abdominal bloating. By the time I would go to bed at night I looked 11 months pregnant, no exaggeration. I would have pain all the way into my back and shoulders from the pressure. At no point in my day could I bend over and breathe at the same time. I was always short of breath, and it was hard to do just normal activities. Taking a shower felt like a marathon. I was barely existing. Add to that my mental health issues. In 2002 I was diagnosed bipolar II, and a few years later they added the diagnoses of mild psychosis. But my biggest issues for the last several years had been near-constant depression and anxiety. Near the beginning of the pandemic my A1C was 5.6. Luckily the doctor mention that prediabetes was 5.7, but then he acted like as long as I was 5.6 I was fine. But that's just 0.1 away from prediabetes. I was pretty sure you body didn't just go "Oh, we're 0.1 point away, so we're all good", so I started looking into that myself. That led me to try keto first, which I did for 7 months. And I did have some improvements at first, and I was convinced that was the answer. But the improvements were small and they stayed small. Then I started seeing comments about carnivore, and at first I was extremely resistant. What do you mean "no vegetables"?!? But I was still suffering, although not quite as much, and finally, after reading SO many success stories, I decided to give it a try. That was two years ago in August. My results have been nothing short of miraculous. Bloating, gone. Liquid stools, gone. Acid reflux, gone. Shortness of breath, extreme exhaustion, difficulty walking, gone, gone, gone. Depression and anxiety? GONE!! And those are just a few of the things I was struggling with. Recently I've also noticed that my almost life-long phobia of bees and wasps is gone. I would literally freak out if a bee or wasp was near me. Severe anxiety, arms flailing, screaming. I didn't spend much time outdoors. Now I can walk past a bee or wasp with blinking. Sure, I wouldn't feel comfortable walking close to a nest or hive, but that's normal. Anyway, yeah, carnivore gave me my life back. I'm 51 and I really believe I probably would have been dead by 60 if I hadn't found carnivore. And I sure as heck had lots of times where I wished I would die so I could end my suffering. No longer. I look forward to getting older now.

I went from having 4-6 bathroom breaks daily on Keto and SAD then tried carnivore. 100% gone. I never thought only meat would heal me. My relationships were affected by that and my emotional stability with not knowing when I would have to stop by a fast food restaurant and brave a public toilet very often. It was miserable.

Thank you for sharing your story. I am 60 years old, tried Keto for 4 months at age 53 after eating SAD diet my whole life. Never felt good on Keto, constipated, oily. Started WFPB at age 54, over the next few months I felt better and better, hard to give up all those SAD foods but I did it. All my inflammation slowly went away. I started strength training, cycling. Now I am 60, 5'9" tall, 145#, most jacked 60 year old in my local gym, feel like I am 30 years old, can sprint, perform calisthenics, hike, healthier than when I was 30. No drugs, all natural, take no medications, feel great! I think we are all different. If carnivore helps you thrive..go for it! I would eat cardboard if it was that best thing to fuel my body and promote the greatest health. I was sugar addicted as well, it was the most difficult addiction to give up. Best wishes on your health journey!
@mglacour Жыл бұрын
There are literally 1000's of pier reviewed studies supporting a WFPB diet. I switched five years ago to it and all of my labs have significantly improved and I went from being in moderate kidney failure to having a normal GFR. I am stronger and fitter than when I was a swimmer in college at the age of 50. I have not felt this good since I was 24 years old. My body is shredded. My calcium score was zero this past year. I do eat some meat occasionally, but would never ever do the carnivore diet. I personally feel like what is happening is that these folks are dropping sugar, processed sugars, etc, and that's where the real benefit is, along with the massive amount of weight loss (notice every single person mentions the weight loss). From this standpoint, there are short term benefits, but IMO, it's deceptive. The carnivore diet is absent fiber which 1000's of studies prove is essential to a long life.

Congratulations! I basically vegetarian for 10 years, meats sparingly and always low-fat, and put on 150 lbs on veggies and fruits. Yes, you heard me correct. VEGETARIAN AND GAINED WEIGHT, all without the sugar addiction. Went strictly carnivore 11 months ago, haven't dropped as much as I thought I would, but 43 lbs in 11 months sounds healthy to me! The inches dropped was the big plus for me to stay carnivore. I went from a size 28W and I'm in 16W now. Shirts - Down from 4X to a medium. Welcome to the carnivore eaters.

👍👍👍 Good for YOU! I was largely plant-based. (I'd eat seafood or steak at a restaurant where someone else cooked it.) When my health started falling apart in my late 60s, a kidney specialist told me to read Gary Taubes's book Why We Get Fat and What to Do About It and to follow the food plan in the Appendix. I did that, and my health improved greatly. I felt like I was in my 50s, whereas I had been feeling like I was at least 90! I've moved more towards carnivore in the last couple of years (I'm 73), and I'm feeling even better! YOU ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO HELP SO MANY MORE PEOPLE NOW! How exciting is that?! 👍👍👍

Good for you. At age 59 (seven years ago) I was in so much pain, I nearly cried every time I had to bend over and pick up after my dog. We had to shorten our walks because I just couldn't manage long walks. The pain was all over; I had all of the symptoms you'd read about with prediabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. As long as I sat still, I was fine; if I moved anything, I had excruciating pain. I discovered first that I should quit grains, so I did that for a year, and it took a while but it helped a lot -- but I still had some pain. Once I quit SUGAR -- two days later, all the pain was GONE. I just don't do sugar anymore. I also do intermittent fasting, sometimes 72-hour sardine fasts, and I feel fantastic.

I learned what I know on KZbin from these doctors and health channels that often list their references: Ken Berry, Jason Fung, Dr. Boz (from whom I got the best advice: when starting this change in diet, add the foods you will be eating before removing the foods you won't be eating), Low Carb Down Under, Diet Doctor, Dr. Cywes the #CarbAddictionDoc, LowCarbUSA, Nutrition with Judy, Virta Health, and many other regular folks who have done this a long time. This is the first video of yours that I've watched and of course I subscribed. I look forward to watching you learn and what I will learn from you.

But HDL is greatly increased and Triglycerides cut by more than 2/3 the previous levels. I reversed diabetes, fatty liver and hypertension, stopped taking all medications (was taking blood pressure and diabetes meds and also arthritis pain meds before). My eyesight is better now, the restriction to wear corrective lenses was removed when I renewed my driver license). Greatly increased testosterone.

It’s a misconception that they all grow old healthily. In my experience a lot have ended up on bp, statins, GI, diabetic and heart meds just like everyone else. It is certainly not a blue zone. And each time I went back to Dr and dietician I think they did not believe I was following their "diet" 😡. I came across keto first now carnivore and in the first 3 months my A1c dropped to prediabetic level of 5.7. when I went fully carnivore and at age 64 .y A,1c is now between 4.9-5.2. I'm not a full carnivore, but we follow a very animal-based diet. About 12 years ago I had terrible skin symptoms that docs could not peg down nor treat (autoimmune maybe?), I eventually water-fasted for 7 days and then added food back in. A simple piece of sweet potato, or a bite of apple and my symptoms would flare up for hours. All I could eat for months was meat, so I did until I could start eating a "healthy plant-based" diet again. After a few years of that I got sick again, so back to carnivore-like diet again.

I was vegetarian for 25 years. My heavily grained based diet pushed me to have high inflammation markers and was progressing towards a disease. I went to Keto and animal products and started to heal, but meat is heavy and "weighes" me down. I eventually found a balance with Keto vegetarian options. Some days I do the animal product keto, and when I start to feel "weighed" down, I have my vegetarian keto days....now it's sustainable. Emotionally, I'm vegetarian, but my body says nope, so it took a while for me to find the balance.
@YourWellnessAlly Жыл бұрын
I appreciate you sharing. I can relate to a heavily grained based diet. I too have never felt better. ❤️
@neilnewinger3059 Жыл бұрын
What does that mean "meat is heavy and "weighs" me down"? Problems to digest it? Not enough bile? I had a problem to digest all that meet, when I was trying OMAD. So now I eat twice a day and everything is fine.
@sheralync5854 Жыл бұрын
@@neilnewinger3059Not a digestion thing. Not really sure how to explain, but will take a stab at it. I find food impacts mood, energy and momentum. Too much sugary, light foods, it's easy to become forgetful and scatter brained. Too many dense, dead foods and inertia and anger and dullness can set in. I need a balance somewhere between the foods. Some might call it yin and yang foods. Ayurveda might call it rajasic, tamasic and satvic foods. For example, I consider cream a "heavy" food. Maybe calorically dense could apply, but it's not quite the right phrase. I need lighter foods. too many animal-based products and inertia and heaviness sets in for me. I wish I could be healthy living off of fruit LOL

It's interesting to read the journals of Lewis and Clark. As they started their way across the plains in 1804, eating only bison, elk, deer, and fish, just like the Native Americans, they felt strong and undefeatable. Then they crossed the Rocky Mountains and nearly starved; they couldn't find enough meat, they were saved from starvation by a tribe that gave them food made with camas bulbs to eat -- imagine going all-carb after being strictly carnivore -- and made it, eventually, to the Pacific. They couldn't WAIT to get back across the mountains, back onto the plains, with the abundance of meat and hides once again, because their winter in the rainy cold damp Pacific Northwest rotted their clothes.
