Dear Dr my PTH level is very high even though I am on medication for my PTH. I do have bone pains and my GFR is less than 30 .what can I do for my pain and change. I am happy today to hear about this parathyroid disorder as I am suffering from this condition.

I have stage 3 CKD and osteoarthritis in both knees. The pain has increased in the knees and travels down to my calves and ankles which are now swollen. Should I speak to a nephrologist or orthopeadic consultant or both?

You should speak with both of your specialists for treatment recommendations! The nephrologist will help ensure that what the ortho recommends/prescribes is safe for your kidneys.

In later stages of kidney disease, uremic toxins and waste products can build up and cause symptoms like fatigue, decreased appetite, shortness of breath, itching...it's always important to address any new or persisting symptoms with your doctor though! It could be CKD or could be something else.

Can a person on dialysis take D3+K2 supplements??

Generally yes, but check with your nephrologist for specific dosing! Some people on dialysis may be on blood thinners and shouldn't take K2 or need a smaller dose. D3 is usually used in dialysis, but dose will depend on blood levels.
