Nice, I’m curious to see how many fruit it produces. Will be fun to see update videos after 1, 2 and 3 years. May it have exponential growth :)

do the planter stones req a metal post to secure when doing multi level?
@TheElsinoreGardener2 жыл бұрын
I don’t use them but I do put stakes in the holes to hold the trees up. You can strengthen the blocks with rebar or similar if you choose

Do you think these planter boxes would still be suitable if I have heavy clay soil? I hear avo's hate wet feet.
@TheElsinoreGardener2 жыл бұрын
Most avocado roots are in the top 9 inches of soil. I would break up the clay soil, add gypsum and build the box on top of that if you want to build one

Good to see you're finally getting em planted, and going much higher too, those plastic trash cans must get really hot in the summer, much better planted. Best of luck, and thx for the videos. Are you still thinking of stumping your Sir Prize? I just stumped my Stewart, grafting to a Wertz. It was just not productive, and not a very attractive tree.

Yes, still thinking about stumping it

What do you do when the 2x6’s rot from age. I was going to create this exact bed but I was afraid it would die on me when the board rotted. I’m going do create mine with stone. Kind of like a fire pit.

The oldest one I have is the Sir Prize I built in 2018 and it is still structurally sound. You can always replace the wood, I don’t wanna spend the money on treated and I’m not sure of the chemicals they use on treated so I stick with the cheapest stuff I can find and it’s worked good so far

The stone could work depending on your temperatures. In winter, the stone could insulate the roots and soil. In summer, if the canopy is small, the stone could become very hot, potentially damaging roots, especially during heat waves.

How do you identify a hass & lamb hass tree? Is there any difference aside from their fruits?

Hard to tell

Would a 15 gallon terra cota pot work for an avocado tree?
@TheElsinoreGardener Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend it. Go larger and something easier to transplant when it gets bigger.
