Planting Anemones and Ranunculus in Containers

For those without a greenhouse my advice is not to start corms in the Autumn.
Pots need protection against extreme weather such as snow, frost and heavy rain so for easiness I will leave mine in the greenhouse to grow for the time being, but they can go outside on sunny days to start acclimatising to the outside environment (I find this useful to free up a bit of space while I work on other plants in the greenhouse, putting them back once I'm done).
As we head into Spring we will be able to leave pots outside day and night, but in a sheltered spot. HOWEVER we will still need to bring pots back undercover during cold frosty spells. During Spring temperatures usually recover fairly quickly and pots can go back outside by morning. But we do sometimes get caught by a short spell of extreme cold so keep this in mind when planning your planting.

I so appreciate the cerebral presentation of this video. I live in America and people tend to take the hamming very far in videos with loud music and shouting/over acting and it gets brain numbing, and they are "light" on the facts because they're just in it for the money (you can tell) not because they actually know what they're doing. What if the foliage does collapsed? Some of My ranunculus have collapsed, will they recover?

If it’s just drought then yes they will perk back up really quickly, they hate drying out. There is lots more information on here but my website might be easier to navigate zoewoodwardgardening.com

I would imagine it would be the same time as me but you would need Grow lights. I’m guessing your spring comes up fast but you are colder for longer. Extreme cold will kill the plants x

Iv just bought the anenome bulbs now. Can i just put them in a pot directly or do we have to put them in trays to get them started

Watch out for rodents, they will steal them. we transplant as plugs to avoid this x
