Please do a spring walk soon where you take us around all the areas. It would be nice if we had one for each season.

They probably are doing it but from what I’m seeing everything at their property is just starting to bud, they’re probably gonna wait a few more weeks. But I would love a spring tour as well!

Love those plants in the spring. How did the bulbs in the lawn do? I don't remember seeing an update on those.

I saved one of these that was laying beside of the road I live on. I waited all day to see if someone dropped it but by evening no one had picked it up and it was almost dark so I did. It was in rough shape, I’m thinking someone was just throwing it out. I’ve had it in soil, added the acidic, and kept it moist. It looks like something’s happening and it’s starting to get buds. I hope it survives. It was really dry when I picked it up.

I wonder whether you able to completely solved the deer problem? I remember you and your team put deer fence around your land, with some are reusing old fence. I hope there is no more deer problem :).

Is that rhododendron native to where you’re located, or for a zone range? Please clarify if you read this. Peace and Thanks in advance.

According to BONAP's North American Plant Atlas, the Rhododendron viscosum is native to New York and the R. arborescens is native to states bordering them

Are the Rhododendron hybrids sterile? Wouldn’t it cross hybridise with the native species if the same pollinators visit both?

North of where you are by the Lake, the soil gets very sandy.

I'm slightly skeptical of planting Rhododendrons in such heavy soil. I'm sure it will stay alive but not prosper. They have a pretty fragile and shallow root system and don't really enjoy soggy soil. The soil should be airy, moist, and acidic. Maybe just a slightly raised mound would have been a more appropriate planting scenario. Could your observation about native Rhododendron occurrence in your area be simple due to different pH of soil?
