So cool seeing someone (you) talk about intentional plant owning. Something I got wary about when I saw plants because popular was the gotta catch them all mentality and the consumerism. Seeing you intentionally consider your journey and what you need at different parts of your life is inspirational

I am SHOOK over the new hair! it looks SO good. It really highlights your facial features and brings the focus to your eyes ^^ As for Hoya growth in the winter, I inherited my great grandma's hoya pubicalyx about a year ago and its currently putting out 6 new leaves. I live in Iowa & it is currently -19c here lol. I do have a hole house humidifier that keeps the humidity in the house in the 50-60s, other than that I'm not doing anything special for it and its by an east facing window. But maybe the humidity helps cancel out some of the effects of the cold temperatures? lol idk. I just think Hoyas have a mind of their own lol.

I have a couple of tips for not getting overwhelmed with plants ( totally unsolicited so feel free to ignore 💙 ) One thing I do is group my plants near each other and on the soil of my larger pots, so smaller pots drain down into larger pots etc so I don't have to take things to the sink as often, and it cuts down on the number of grow lights & humidifiers needed. I also try to put different plants together in one pot if they have the same soil type and necessary care/conditions ie; planting a few of my anthurium together, so I'm enjoying lots of species but I'm watering less pots if that makes any sense. I've really started looking at what simplifies my plant care & what sparks the most joy in my collection. I've been focusing energy on being more intentional, making really thought out decisions for additions to my collection etc. I'm more intentional in considering my lighting, space, and acuity of care before I bring something in that I'd love to have. If I don't necessarily have a convenient or readily available spot to give the plant what it needs, I give it love in another way. If I can't provide it the care it thrives in, it's not going to look the way I'd love it to anyways. I hate seeing living things suffer so it steals the joy. I paint pictures of them or save them as my phone background to enjoy them. I think for a while I got it in my head that I had to own each plant I loved and admired, which is a mindset I've been really trying to fix in myself. That led to be being stressed about plant care rather than enjoying it like I did in the beginning of my journey. If you want to see any of those tips in action check out my IG @stephanne1987 thanks so much for your videos! I don't have a ton of people to share my plant journey with, so it's nice to nerd out with my headphones on to someone else's info 💜🥰🪴

Okay yes! I have the same Hoya issue in the winter! I’ve got 10 different varieties and every single one of them stops growing in the winter and takes off in the spring! I have a few hoya on my wish list for this year, I'm loving all the smaller leaf hoyas right now and most of mine have actually been growing quite a bit this winter. I recently got a ric rac clipping and it's already growing a new leaf and my holiday cactus clippings are growing too. I'm not really into cactus too much and didn't think I would do well with them (given to me), but I may have been wrong. 🤷♀️ I agree on jungle cactus for sure.

You said you liked fuzzy plants I think you would LOVE LOVE a purple heart. They are really pretty and purple and depending on how many stems you have they can get REALLY BUSHY. I have a few my tips for purple heart are well draining soil, and making sure you are not watering exesivly. If you want to make sure that they stay purple and dont get too green make sure the light is indirect.

69686 leaves yellow in shipping like crazy , just get one with more leaves so you will have at least some leaves left after the process. Don’t buy anything like a single leaf node or two leaves juvenile, once they shatter the only leaf they’ve got, it’s done. The chance of growing it back from a stump after shipping is so low that for me it just never happened.

Rufibarba is definitely one of my favorite calathea! I have one. Just repotted it. They're not too bad as far as care goes. In the winter, you can even get away with letting them dry out a bit more than you would in the warmer months. The fuzzy leaves are soooo great. lol. Literally touching its leaves is one of the first things I do every morning.

That Syngonium look like the leaf have had a major spidermite outbreak x) But if you want fuzzy plants you need to get 'geraniums' aka Pelargonium. The Zonartics are even longhaired up close, they aren't very common in North America but not impossible to get. And 'Fragrans' has very soft velvet leaves with scent when touched, it's for sure is a thing in North America and shouldn't be very hard to get by trading.

First off I'm obsessedd with your haircut! It fits you so well 🥺💕 Anthurium pallidiflorum is so hardy! I've grown it in both household humidity (around 40-50%) and grow tent conditions (80-90%). 💚🌱 Epiphyllum chrysocardium is one of my favorite epiphytic cacti. It gets HUGE and it looks like a dramatic prehistoric showstopper!!! Very sexy fast growing beast of a plant. Getting it to bloom is tough as it needs to be pretty mature which means it will be massive and it’s hard to give it enough light to bloom. Can absolutely support every plant on this list, either because I grow them myself or would love to. I see why you, a silver plant lover, would want the Silver Band but for me, it's the Black Band which is also just referred to as Maranta Black 😩😩 She is just *Chef's kiss* I'm not sure if shipping to you is possible from this site but Steve's Leaves stocks both of these occasionally. Maybe you could find a US person to order for you and ship to you rather than direct from site if that's not an option? Assuming you're not able to source it otherwise, I fully understand this is a trades list, just cannot turn off the Problem Solve feature I came with 🙃 I recently became obsessed with rhipsalis and other jungle cactus but also have gone crazy with growing ferns. I'm fortunate to have conditions that make it easy to grow them so I can absolutely agree with this fern leaf cactus, just the absolute best of both worlds. That plant is SO cool I cannot
