These women are beginning to regret hopping on these surgery trends. It's funny that I'm watching this right after seeing a KZbin short of Latto discouraging women from going under the knife, and to love themselves. Funny thing is, she has had a lot of work done herself, and I'm wondering if maybe she regrets it. I have also seen a growing number of women openly discussing wanting to reverse their BBLs, removing their implants, etc.

I’ve seen that and the comments really showed how…ignorant people were. “She got work done so she can’t talk” but that’s the point. A lot of people who come out and talk about having a bbl say it’s a lot of money, it’s a lot of upkeep and typically it’s not just one and done. When I first started seeing all the bbls a few years ago, back when everyone was promoting flat tummy tea and hitting the gym, it came out that folks were getting bbls but then weren’t taking care of themselves because they assumed they did have to. But you DO. You still have to workout, you still have to eat right. I think back then a lot of people assumed you’d be fine right after. Your body is made how it is. Even if you’re a skinny mini now or overweight the bone shape of your body can and muscles can determine how you’ll look. You can workout to look like Cardi or latto if your body is shaped that way. No matter how much I do I won’t look like them without a bbl (not a bad thing my hips just aren’t made that way). And if that’s the case there are safe ways to enhance what you have. But people think a tummy tuck, a fat burn, a bbl is gonna make you perfect with no work needing to be done. The reason you see all those bbl influencers working out isn’t because they’re now trying to lie it’s because they HAVE to to keep that body up. Kim K regrets surgery, got it taken it, Kylie came out talking about it. Ariana Grande didn’t have surgery I don’t think but her looks are changing. Nicki is changing. Latto basically said if you don’t love yourself before the bbl the after love is only short term which is true in a lot of cases

Part of me wonders if the regret comes from a genuine place or if people only regret it because the body standard changed. Now that skinny is “in” again, do they feel like they have to reverse the bbls just to keep up with what’s popular? Constantly manipulating your body to meet changing trends can’t be healthy at all.

Ngl I miss the 90s and early 2000s I was a kid back then. I ain’t shaming anyone I never would! But light makeup, everything natural, fresh faced etc. I miss tht. Nowadays it’s just like everyone is slowly looking like each other like ppl are out here killing themselves trying to maintain a look like getting a BBL when it’s literally known as one of the most dangerous surgeries. By all means you do you if getting surgery makes you happier than get it all in support of that but I think a lot of ppl get it for external validation which is sad. Just my opinion tho. I ain’t trying to shame anyone or shame women I would never do That. I love women and want every woman to Feel beautiful! But it’s just something I’m noticing

The 90s and 2000s were also just as bad with body image, if not worse. Back then, people were killing themselves trying to look skinny. I was a kid then too, but I remember all the dangerous fad diets, the thousands of people getting liposuction and gastric bypass surgery, the tabloids mocking every female celebrity that had even an ounce of fat on her body, the heroin chic era, the TV shows like The Biggest Loser that glorified losing weight at an unsustainable and unhealthy rate. It was absolutely not any better. You might be looking at that time with rose-tinted glasses clouded with nostalgia.

Great video. I'm in my 30s, currently pregnant with my first. I started panicking early on, for several reasons, and one of the first things my therapist told me was to focus on my health. I felt like i was losing or going to lose control of my life and who i was. There's very little in this world we have power over and the more we try to wrestle that power and control, the less of it we have and the more desire we will have to constantly try to change things. All this to say, there are some things that can be changed or enhanced like certain circumstances, but we can never change how others perceive us. No matter how hard we try, if we base our looks on others' perception of us we will NEVER BE SATISFIED. That's what i feel cosmetic surgeries take us to, a place where maybe we are happy with the enhancement but we can never stop our cells aging and we can't keep permanent how others see us.

I just wanted to make my own comment reintegrating what I said but Kim kardashian have more instagram followers and more influence than nicki Minaj ALL influencers and people in the media STILL have a huge role on the bbl epidemic and since Kim got her bbl removed even people like Ari are getting their bbls removed … social media also does play a huge role in everything I know someone who got two bbls and still uses filters and is still insecure over their body even put emojis over their surgery scars that makes the obvious of surgery known to their followers it’s all crazy since I graduated college I stay off social media bc even the friends that I have I don’t resonate with them anymore and graduating college or getting married these days is loosely cared about over getting cosmetic surgery and it’s sad tbh

There was no social media back then…which means there wasn’t this huge number of females running to get their bodies done. We currently live in the age of social media where Tiktok and Instagram is basically a beauty contest😂. These regular ass females getting their bodies done because they saw JT, Cardi B or their favorite influencer get one. Shit I’m seeing KZbinrs getting their bodies done😂.
