I got fillers because I had THEEE hollowest under eyes (genetic). Got it done once by a super expensive Ukrainian dermatologist. I went back after 3 months for a top up, she observed my face and said nope you’re fine go home. Came back 3 months later and she told me I’m still fine. And then the last time I went to see her she told me new research has found that the fillers are just gonna stay on my face forever and they might move if I keep getting more in the same spot. So she refused to do anything else to my under eyes and showed me how to do some daily massages and told me to come back if I have any problems but I should NOT get more filler. I was so surprised that she DIDNT just do it and take my money anyway but she is ethical and has morals. I love her so much. Anyway I got these fillers in 2021 and my face is still fine. They haven’t moved. When I don’t sleep well my under eyes look darker, but they’re not hollow anymore. I haven’t done ANYTHING else - doctor’s orders. Again I’m so grateful for that doctor.

Before I found this dermatologist I went to an aesthetician who gave me a list of all the things wrong with my face 😂 (all I asked was what I can do about my hollow undereyes). I think that there has always been people looking older than their age, and younger than their age. In all generations. Nowadays with social media we can híper focus in the extremes on each group, and reach the wrong conclusion, that gen Z is aging like milk and millennials are not aging, but as Michelle said, if you go out into the real world and see the average gen z, they'll be looking their age.

Wouldn't it be nice if age wasn't equated with ugliness? If we're lucky, we all get old.
@paulaunger3061Ай бұрын
The irony is that so much of what we equate with old age is just skin damage. That first girl, the redhead - that was pure skin damage on skin which is highly susceptible to burning and which is also excessively dry. A good cleanser and moisturiser - supermarket cleanser will do the job brilliantly and E45 is perfect for dry skin (petroleum jelly if it's really bad, seriously ;p ) - aren't expensive and would be transformative.
@Abby-ug4xcАй бұрын
However, signs of aging ARE an indicator of certain health factors. Wrinkled skin is unhealthy skin, and unhealthy habits will speed that up. There isn't a direct 1:1 timeline of physical aging to chronological aging. Physical aging is exponential cellular damage that can be slowed or sped up and lifestyle choices like alcohol intake, smoking, eating processed foods etc WILL speed it up, in internal organs if not your skin

Supposed to be connected to your skull however I didn't always believe that & experimented. I've found that YES it is hereditary because of how your eye sockets are formed but having too much mucous in there is what causes the color & I use lemons (keep your whole system alkaline) to get rid of the racoon eyes. I do things to not have excess mucous. Or I don't & eat whatever & have the dark circles + bags lol
@KatFish682Ай бұрын
Ignore them, love! You inherited those beautiful raccoon eyes from your ancestors who came before you. Do you think raccoons worry about their masks? Nope! They just rock em! Embrace your perfect imperfections that make you uniquely you & I’m not just saying it, I’m living it! I have even quit dying my hair so I can celebrate being in my 50’s for all of the women who didn’t have the opportunity. If you don’t love yourself now, you are really going to hate it if/when you have babies & age. Our skin & body changes a lot thanks to hormones &/or lack thereof as we have babies, age, & approach menopause. I’m so thankful I “survived the unsurvivable” in my 10 year battle because it taught me that my life is so much more precious than the superficial looks that inevitably fade over time. I am looking to English & British women like Helen Mirren, Judy Dench, Maggie Smith, & all of the beautiful actresses who refuse to fight nature’s natural progression. She was always overweight, and did yo-yo dieting for years. She divorced and married my brother. Within a few years she looked much better, and lost nearly 100 pounds without trying. I told her it's because she is happy. Without all the fear and stress, her body naturally adjusted to a good weight for her. She will never be thin, but she's comfortable and happy now, enjoying life. I think that's a big part of this "old" problem, women just can't be happy with themselves anymore. I'm 55, recently lost 140lbs, and want to thank you for this video. When I started my weight loss/fitness journey, the dread of sagging skin was nearly enough to stop me, but I told myself, "you ignored fat, the sign of self destruction, you can ignore the loose skin, a sign of your improving health." I've accepted the loose skin, but, as the baby of my family and always hanging around older people, finally looking my age was getting hard. I've never been one for skin care, haven't worn makeup more than 3 times in the last 20 years, wash my face in the shower before bed and maybe wipe it with a wet washcloth during the day if I get icky. I still look younger than many of my old classmates, but only because they were smokers or sun worshippers back in the day, and definitely not enough to still be seen as "the baby". I take my mom to the senior center twice a week, where membership age is 62 or 65, and no one thinks I'm not a member anymore :'( Seeing these faces in your video reminds me that we all look different, we age different, we care for ourselves differently, and it's ok.

I am going to be brutally honest. Yep, fillers drastically age people and make them look swollen and sick. Especially because once they get TOO much fillers and have to stop, their skin will start to really sag, once they get the fillers dissolved. It will sag A LOT. And the fillers never 100% go away, so their skin will not only be saggy, but lumpy where the dissolved fillers settled. I find looking your age to be a privilege. Life is hard, for most of us. So let's appreciate getting as far as we have so far in life.

@crucialtaunt722Ай бұрын
You don't even have to inject too much into the face. Hyaluronic acid causes tissue expansion, so even just one time can cause that pillow face down the road. Also, filter migrates to new areas, it doesn't "dissolve"
@lizthedisjointedzebra692Ай бұрын

The algorithm used now is wild. My mom (a boomer) said she gets so upset when she gets on social media now because all it shows her is stuff she's against or politics when all she wanted was to watch funny content and Christian music. We told her that's because you probably react to and spend more time watching the negative content that makes you angry. Especially now they have rage baiting and what not. Because they know people will sit there and watch it and comment on it. Another common theme is convincing the audience you think you know something that is very wrong in order to get people to correct you.

Aging is a privilege. In my life I've done sooooo many nefarious things, I'm surprised I'm still around. I'm happy I am though because life is worth living. And aging is a part of that living. Yes, take care of yourself, your body and you may age better, but you WILL eventually age and you will eventually die. We as a species have done phenomenal studies into what ages us faster, what causes our bodies to break down faster and what we can do to prevent those things, but we will all eventually look like raisins and our bodies will eventually decay. No matter how much you stretch your skin, no matter how much plumping bs you inject into yourself, no matter how good you eat, no matter how much you excersize, no matter how much destressing you do, all of it is just in vein to time. I say yes take care of yourself to have a better quality of life, but LIVE this life and find your happiness in it. That's the true meaning in my opinion.

Seeing the laugh line wrinkles on an aging face tells me that the person has had a lot of laughs in their life, and that brings me great joy. 😊 I find wrinkles and aging beautiful, and it sickens me how much the entertainment/beauty industry has pushed all these crazy unrealistic beauty standards for as old as time onto society. 💔 We all age, we all will get wrinkles, and it's okay. What's weird and concerning to me is that the industries have made so many people extremely insecure about themsleves and will trick people into thinking they need to change their appearance just because they are aging. The reason why they do this is not what you think. They do this because the more young you look, the more "innocent" you look in life, meaning you havent experienced a lot of life yet, signaling to the rich and powerful that you can be manipulated and groomed into what they want you to be, and age does not matter as long as you have the very young look. They try so hard to make you not love yourself and the way you look, especially when you are aging, and they have successfully been destroying peoples self-esteem and security within themselves. Look at the modeling industry. Models who were 5'7",130lbs were considered "plus size models." It was only in recent years that they hired actual plus sized models 5'7" 180 to 200+ lbs and are embracing actual plus sized models instead of shaming skinny models into thinking they are plus sized. And theres nothing wrong with being plus sized. However, it was a very big deal in the modeling industry, and they did not want anything to do with plus sized models until recently. If they felt you were overweight, you had to lose weight if you wanted to walk the runway. 💔 Please, people, you dont need cosmetic surgery unless you are disfugured from an accident or are born with a disfigurement. Please learn to love yourself and the way you look. Dont give into the industries unrealistic beauty standards. All of you ARE beautiful. You ARE physically attractive to thousands of people in the world. It doesn't matter what shape you are or how much you weigh. For every 1 who doesn't find you physically attractive, there's always more who will see your beauty and find you attractive. 💕 Learn not to care about what strangers say to you in person or online. They dont personally know you. Their goal is to ruin your self-esteem and make you feel horrible. Why? Because they hate themselves and their lives, and they can't stand it when others are doing better than they are. Jealousy can really drive someone over the edge. If you do decide to get surgery, please, please, really think about it. You dont want to end up regretting it 10, 15, 20 years from now. Learn to love your looks, your body, as you age, wrinkles, and all, because it's a beautiful thing. 🫂💕✨️

I’m a millennial and fairly petite so I've always looked young. When I was 16 I looked 11 - 12, when I was 25 I looked 18-20. I turn 39 next month but look 30. My genetics play a huge role but I think the catalyst is we all scrubbed our face with broken walnuts. Thanks St.Ives!

Older generations were heavy on smoking and it contributes to them aging more rapidly. The negative effects of smoking were more well known when millennials were coming up. Gen Z is very stressed out and they do procedures meant for older people at younger ages. I always looked older when I was younger - I looked 25 when I was 18…and then I looked 30 when I was 25. Now that I’m 37 I look my age or younger. Some people just have more mature faces and others have baby faces.

I've never really been into peer pressure as an adult. Over time, you face situations that give you two roads to travel, and with practice, you can visualize the way each path might play out. When confronted with aging, either you embrace it and move on with your life, or you make it an unnecessary stressor by allowing other people's opinions change the way you think about yourself. Be self aware, be reflective and pause to take inventory over situations that might consume your life.

Fast forward a year, I've managed to reverse the damage. I glow more now because I'm happier ✨️ I'm a millenial born in 1981. I'm so glad I grew up when I did!! Great video ❤ thank you 😊 🙏

Gen z here. I've been going to the swimming pool lately, and recently, I noticed they were charging me the "Youth" price. I checked their website and "Youth" price was for 12-18 years old. I'm 25... But I don't drink, don't smoke, no makeup, use sunscreen. I do deal with a lot of stress, but I feel like how old you look can also depend on genetics. All my siblings look younger than they are.
@jacquieclapperton9758Ай бұрын
Absolutely genetics has a huge part to play. I'm lucky enough to take after my mother and her mother who both looked much younger than their actual ages, both with skin and hair. Three years ago I had to tell the nurses who kept asking me if I was sure that I couldn't possibly be pregnant to check my birthdate - I was 60 at the time. Stress - my grandmother lived through rationing in both world wars, lived through the great depression, and had three children to worry about in WW2. My mother served in WW2, was in the heart of the London Blitz, listened to the escort ships dropping depth charges against the surrounding submarines while on board a troop ship, had a severely disabled child, got caught up in the Iraqi revolution while shopping, etc etc. At the time of the nurses questioning me, I was living on disability after losing my job because of mental health problems due to work. So, yeah, we had stress. But we knew how to cook and we knew what made a good diet. My mother and I gave up smoking and none of us messed around with too much dye or makeup. Never did drugs. My grandma did have a great attitude though, feeling ”sorry for all the old folk" when in her 80s!

Millennial here class of '03. When I was young I was taught about preventative skin care. Primarily from my grandmother. I've always used products like cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Plus sun protection, no smoking, and drinking LOTS OF WATER. I'm 39 and no one believes that I am. Plus my mom is 63 and looks like she's in her late 30's too. People think we're siblings close in age, and are surprised to learn we're mom and daughter.

I'm 5'11, Mom's 5'9, and Mima is 5'5 on a good day and I look just like them. As long as I don't mess with my face, I'm just gonna be salt and pepper in the front of my head (already beginning and I'm SO. HAPPY!) before becoming a silver fox. I'm actually gonna get gray crochet braids because I've been looking forward to going gray for years! As sad as I was, I didn't expect or want to see 18, much less 31. Give me all the gray hairs, the wrinkles, hell, even the joint pain! That means that I made it. I'm here and I'm happy to be here.

Wow, what painstaking production..very nice! I'm 71. I wish people would chill the eff out about getting old. It's not that bad! You have some money, you don't care what anyone thinks about you and you can do whatever you want. And, surprise, you are going to be old for a lot longer than you are young, so just relax. I had a horrible reaction when I tried botox 20 years ago, high fever and muscle pain and weakness in my legs for a year. I was a working actress and I did have an excellent facelift at fifty, but no fillers, ever, and nothing since then. I feel terrible for young people who are obsessed with the mirror, future aging and how they look. What a waste of precious time.

Ended up a single mom in my mid-20s. BUT no freedom to party, couldn’t afford to be lazy, didn’t have extra money for alcohol or other non-necessities, and didn’t have anyone to help me. I know stress, fear, illness, poverty, hunger, loneliness, exhaustion as well as anybody. Now I’m 44 and people think I’m in my mid 30s. It’s all about attitude and appreciation of life!

I think a lot of people are confusing "looking young" with "looking good" - the reality is that most women look better at 30 than at 20 (Provided that they maintain a healthy lifestyle ) because by 30 you have come to terms with your looks . This means you are dressing better and picking clothes to suit your features as opposed to following trends. A busier schedule also means that you no longer have the time for an overly involved beauty routine which means you end up going for a more natural makeup look and hairstyle - these looks read as more innocent and thus more youthful than a full face of makeup.
