John Hopkins noted years ago that the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S. is medical errors. Not withstanding all the good that science and medicine has done. Science is not really speculative in itself, but when you study a complex system like the human body you will encounter the challenge of attribution. In other words, what other things could explain correlation or lack thereof. It is true, however, that we don't have an absolute certainty about anything in life, but that is not an argument against science.

Great video. I’m interested in PRP treatment though it is so cost inefficient as you will require x3 maintainence injections to keep the hair that has grown with this method a year. That’s $2,500 year, for the rest of your life. Alternatively, along with Finasteride and Minoxidil, you could swap out PRP for Microneedling at home with a proper $300+ pen, and perform once a week with 1.5mm needles. This works in such a similar way as it creates tiny wounds which draw blood to heal the area - and this blood contains growth factors like PRP. Could also consider LLLT and spending $500 on a laser diode hat. These attack the issue from multiple angles and compound the growth benefits. And are dramatically more cost effective for long term use. PRP will cost $2,500 every year for the rest of your life to maintain gains.

You need 5-6 PRPs in the first year. For maintenance 1-2 is enough. But PRP is not the first step treatment. If you‘ve good results with Minoxidil, Finesterid, Microneedling or other cheaper treatments, then PRP is not necessary.

In relation to the lack of established PRP administration protocols: Some clinics administer PRP treatment by 'smearing' it over the scalp, followed by DermaPen/Dermarolling over the top of the 'smeared' PRP. Is there any evidence that this approach is effective or is it wasteful? I would imagine some benefits would be improved patient compliance and that the 'smeared' PRP could be 'carried through' to the appropriate depth with the subsequent DermaPen/Dermarolling. However, this also seems like a waste of the majority of the isolated PRP, not only in terms of 'non-carried through' PRP. Is there any evidence for absorption of PRP through the epidermis?!

My question is regarding the PRP injection procedure specifically: I’m going to a specialist facility for hair loss, paying ~$1k per PRP session. (1) How complicated or sophisticated is the actual injection procedure? I ask because i have had one session so far and the doctor just made one injection on each side of my temples. It was my understanding that they needed to inject in the hair follicle individually? but he said he was injecting along some sort of “plane” and he knew how to do it. It took him all but 5 minutes and I was just a bit surprised i paid such a hefty sum for so little of his time… (2) Should i be willing to let a nurse practitioner perform the injection procedure, or should I generally opt for the doctor himself? They are trying to book the nurse practitioner to do it but since I am paying so much if it might make a difference I would prefer the doctor? Maybe this procedure is super simple and effectiveness doesn’t generally increase w/ more experience from the person conducting the procedure, in which case I should be fine with the nurse practitioner? I've started this new filler treatment for my face and neck called Profhilo, which is basically just injecting pure moist (hyaluronic acid) into the skin. I don't know why, but suddenly I noticed that my beard got much thicker, grew much faster, and became much darker after my Profhilo treatments. People do experience follicle shock with microneedling that's mainly because if a derma roller is used aggressively it can stretch the follicles. Prp might cause shedding by pushing out the vellus hair to make way for terminal hair, this is why it's important to have 5-6 sessions of prp for full results

I think this should be avoided as it tends to cause shock hairloss from the trauma. I found it to only get worse in a few short weeks. I can only speak from my own experience with it, other clinics do prp every 3 months which seems to be a wiser route to take.

Heard after 3 sessions of prp and you make good progress it’s every 6-12 months you continue it. Micro needling should be done at most 3x a week (1x is enough). Ideal size is from 1mm to 1.5. I also heard minoxidil is good to use before micro needling

I'd be curious how this stacks with TRT as I've read studies that say exogenous test use can increase platelet count drastically. To be honest I used the minoxidil spray (not the foam) more frequently than the finasteride pills because I feel somewhat uncomfortable in the stomach when I do. Note that it's different from one person to another. Another bad thing I did was not have them do the prp injections at least once a month for 3 months at least because I watched a video on how it's done and was afraid to go through the agonising pain during the procedure where even after 7 injections of anesthetic i still felt pain!

Every other day is probably fine, but every day is certainly preferred. Why do you ask?

@@Dracstar sometimes it just gets in the way of certain situations. I usually want to wash it off and make my hair look presentable after i use it. Which I do, after 40’min I usually wash it off because it would already be in my system by that time however some days it can be a bit out of the way. Ive had success with it however i just recently started using it every other day where in the past I used it every day. So I was just a bit worried

But on the day consultation, the consulter told me that I will get 25ml, but today the media team reply that I will only receive5 ml of the plasma. So what should I do with this situation?? I have had 3 PRP treatments, 11 mesotherapy sessions and 1 Regenera Activa session - nothing has worked - I am still losing over 200 hairs a day - is there any advice you could give me please I am honestly at my wits end. I can recommend Minoxidil and LLLT (Regaine and Hairmax for me) start and continue to use them without stopping and you should slow your hair loss.
