I'm so happy I came across this channel. The information and advise given is just amazing. Thanks to the Hairloss show I took the plunge and started using Minoxidil in January and Finasteride in March. I did initially shed hairs, then before I knew it, I actually started to get my old hairline back! I'm 30 yrs old and I can honestly say my hair is back to how it was years ago! I can't wait to see how it will be after a year of using the treatment!

I’m really glad that it’s working for you, and I have one question, do you apply Minoxidil just to the balding/receding areas? And when you apply it, do you have to massage it with your fingers or what? I would really appreciate it if you share with us how you use it.
@ThePainter19894 жыл бұрын
Wassim so in my first video I show how I apply it. I should probably do an update video soon! But yes, I just part the hairs in the area that I want hair to grow (crown and hairline) and gently apply the cream with my fingers to the scalp until it’s fully rubbed in. You do get some on the hair but it’s impossible not to haha!

I am a biggest follower and love the tips you recommend. What helped with my hair fall control are potato juice, acv mixed with water application after washing, eggmask, liitlextraa cocconion hair oil, shampoo, green tea. All this helped me and now I dont face hair fall anymore.
@VikramYmalhotra3 ай бұрын
Bought this Cocooonion hair shampoo to address hair loss and dandruff issues. My scalp feel uncomfortable and dry and flaky. I became frustrated due to the flaky scalp. Following extensive research, I decided to decided to give this one a go. Following initial use, I noticed my hair seemed soft and my scalp was less itchy. I usually wash my hair every few days and after two days, the dandruff would reappear. Yet since using this shampoo, this was no longer an issue. I chose to continue using this shampoo to monitor the results. It has been about seven months since then and the issue with dandruff has gone. Virtually no hair fall at all. I’m pleased with the decision to take this step to follow the routine. All in all, an amazing product.

As someone who has finally accepted that I am losing my hair, this channel has come at a great help. Upon advice from a hair treatment centre I was offered a "super strong" 10% dosage for triple the price. Hearing 5% is perfectly fine and 10% only marginally makes more of a difference has probably saved me hundreds if not thousands depending on long I intend to use this product for. Hopefully it works as I start my journey and thank you again, you have got a new subscriber!

Any results? Been slowly losing my hair. At the moment it is ok and I can camp my hair to look nice. However forehead is getting thinner so started to use finasterid as a preventative measure maybe 8 months ago. Seems and feels like that this is not enough to stop the thinning. At the moment I feel like will get a hair transplant if needed. However decided that now is time to test different stimulants and I guess minoxidil is the first on the list.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, but thought I'd give an update. So after 8-9 months of using topical Minoxidil, I've noticed A LOT of baby hairs growing. They're about 1-5 inches now. It's kinda annoying that there's a lot of baby hairs sticking out or a lot of fly aways in my hair, but I'm thankful coz it's a sign that Minoxidil works in regrowing my lost hair. There's definitely a shedding phase at the start, and it's really scary. Mine went on for like idk 3 months or so? And my hair shed in CLUMPS! I honestly I got a bit discouraged. But after just powering through it, the shedding is significantly less now. I say 'less', because I still do shed. Though I think it's just the natural 50-60 strands or so in a day. I won't lie and say I've been on it everyday. I probably miss a day or two here and there because life can get away and I can sometimes forget. Oh, and there were side effects for me too. At one point, I got flaky, itchy scalp and dandruff from it. But I countered that with Ketoconazole, followed by oiling the mids and ends because anything antidandruff could really dry up the hair. So that's my experience so far. I'll continue using Minoxidil since I've seen it's effect on me. Of course, experiences may still vary from one person to another. Hope it works for y'all too!

Russel, please discuss this in your next Q&A: You have mentioned that we don't need to keep Minoxidil on for 4-8 hours and that the liquid version absorbs in 60-90 minutes vis-a-vis to the foam which absorbs in 15 minutes. I saw this study: "In that study, twenty-two healthy male volunteers completed a four-way, multiple-dose, randomized crossover study to determine the relationship between contact time of applied drug on the scalp and minoxidil absorption from a 2% topical solution. The researchers examined how much minoxidil is absorbed at 1 hr, 4 hr compared to 11.5 hours. Relative to the amount absorbed after a contact time of 11.5 h, absorption was approximately 50% complete by 1 h and greater than 75% complete by 4 h." So, taking both your word and this study into account, do you mean that when solution is applied for 90 mins and around 50% is absorbed, that is enough? Also please talk over this application time issue in some of your new video. Thanks for all the great videos, I've seen all on AGA, you guys rock!

Great video explaining whats and hows of Minoxidil. I began using 5% foam around 5months ago and switched to 10% and 2% azelaic acid after 3 months. I have to say I noticed more shedding when I switched to higher dosage but I assumed it's because of stronger dosage. However, now I understand that it might be due to the fact that currently I'm using a cream/lotion based solution. I think it's less effective in reaching the scalp and when I wash it I can still see a lot of it just remaining on my scalp. At this point, I think I'm going to go back to foam and abandon higher dosage as well.
This is great information! From someone that has been using it seriously about 6 months now, you need to follow what they say about application. I have used the foam solely and I wasn't getting it on my scalp good enough at the start. Once you start getting it on the scalp at a healthy rate, you will noticed it working. You will shed like crazy in fact, but keep at it! I notice videos on KZbin showing some guy just brushing the crap in his hair.......don't do that, lol. Take the time and apply it with your finger and make sure to rub it into the skin. A little brushing with your hand through your hair, as if you were applying gel, isn't going to do anything!

I lost a ton of hair when starting minoxidil but it mad my hair thicker and actually allowed it to grow longer. I stopped for 3 months and I lost 80% of progress. Now I’m back on and it’s thick again but shorter. I switched from 7% to5%. 7 makes you shed a lot much faster for like 4 days and 5 makes you shed for like 2 months but it’s less loss at one time. I find 5% shedding cycle more traumatic but I prefer the 5% over all.

@@sainadh7369 it's because this medicine is just a stimulator, it's not blocking the problem from the root. I tried using minoxidil many times, but had to stop due to seborrheic dermatitis. Thanks to your information, I ordered the foam form and started using it. There is no itching on my scalp now and I can use it. Hopefully, I can continue like this and get good results. Thanks for this video. Love from Turkey...

Please reply to my question! I have started using the regaine foam but in the mornings i get puffy eyes. Then did some research and found that alot of people reported their skin started aging badly and creating many wrinkles due to minoxidil stopping to the collagens in your face. Please tell us if this is true. Is regaine company hiding this big side effect on purpose so people can still buy their products
@furkanyigitozgoren38474 жыл бұрын
I am not an expert but as you think about how long minoxidil on the markets it is almost impossible to hide or manipulate this. (I do not know if it is one of the approved sid effects tho). You may have allergy or something like that. Try to keep minoxidil less hours not before going to bed.

Outstanding content! Is the combination of both blockers and stimulators the topic of a podcast episode yet to come? I heard that hair that was regrown with minoxidil must be continiously treated with it and won't be stable with only finasteride once minoxidil treatment is stopped. Is that correct? Thanks so much!

Thank you as always for the advice! I've been utilizing Minoxidil for over a year and a half now (primarily via the liquid form, which caused excessive flaking, so have since switched to foam with far less side effects) and have noticed a thin layer of short vellus-type hairs at the application sites (at least on forehead). They are rather white, while the rest of my longer standard hair is quite dark-- do you believe these small non-colored hairs can develop into the full length terminal hair? Thank's again!!

Can you guys do a demonstration on how to apply minoxidil foam properly? I see people doing it many different ways. One guy used like 4 capfuls worth in one go. Id be worried about the side effects. Im assuming the more you put on your head, the more likely you will experience side effects. Then i see people complaining about it melting etc.
@yus35603 жыл бұрын
Just apply it on the affected area. And massage it with your fingers for a minute or so. So that it can be absorbed into the scalp.

14 years on only minoxidil?? I’ve been on for 2 months and noticed good results of baby hairs growing everywhere. Will they continue to grow into normal hairs? Will more baby hairs grow as well? Thanks if you can answer these.
@janeztomazic55463 жыл бұрын
@@MattThe1in27-1Hamill absolutely, at least in my experiance the hairs really grow thick and dark, also eyebrows. I started when i was 30 and until about 35 I had hair like in my 20ies. It worked for me fantastic. Than I guess you cant stop mother nature and it slowly regreses back to normal but I am sure it still works. Minoxidil is a strange drug, dont be discouraged if you see your hairs are falling out, I am losing at least 100 a day. Also buy the generic ones like Kirkland, I tried them all, works the same and its much cheaper
@MattThe1in27-1Hamill3 жыл бұрын
@@janeztomazic5546 awesome, thank you for your reply. I am indeed using the Kirkland stuff, costs like $40 for a year’s worth. I’m thinking of getting on finasteride to halt the balding, hoping it will make the minoxidil last longer. And that is very encouraging about the baby hairs. Hoping I will have even better progress in another 2 months!

I really have some points I would like u to put into consideration next time: What I really didn't like about minxsidol is that u will lose the hair improvement as soon as u stop using it even though u get the result ur looking for from over a year. Thus, U didn't talk about this cons. I really preferred that if u were more nuetral to discuss the product to add more credibility to ur content. I really wish to talk about how to get over this issue and what about pregnant women can they use it while pregnancy and if they stopped using it. This means they will lose their hair growth result. What to do in this case Is their any consequences from using it whole life long?

But I would like to clarify, We don't need to wait 4 hours after applying minoxidil before we can wash our head with water? And 15 minutes after applying is fine? We can wash it right away? Is that correct? Pls I need some clarifications about this
@Emantis814 жыл бұрын
The liquid version of Minoxidil takes way longer to absorb in the skin. (90 minutes - 120 minutes) The foam version is much faster (10 - 15 minutes) you can apply it anytime (Once a day as it stays in your skin for 21-22 hours dont stress about the 2 hour gap) You can wash your hair as soon as the chemical as been absorb by your skin fully. 15-20 minutes for Foam. 90-120 minutes for Liquid.

Glad you asked this question. Most people are not even worried about how it may impact health. Here is my understanding after doing some reading. 1. Minoxidil is a drug which can be a double edged sword. When trails are conducting they don't target people with all the nefarious health conditions seen in this world. For example, you may be a person with Gynaecomastia, has Irritable bowel disease or IBS, diabetes, prone to heart conditions, prostate problems etc. 2. The drug is taken long term and it gets mixed with your bloodstream and it is going to do something or other to the body. Usually, no drug is taken on a long term. For example, you take paracetamol in small doses, but only when you need it and not everyday. Diabetes patients take medicine life long, but those medicines will for sure cause some side-effects. 3. No drug in this world is side-effects free. Minoxidil is not a stranger to side effects. 4. There are not many reports on the side-effects, not because no one has them, but no one continued using that drug long enough to observe. 5. People all careless and non observant. They think that some health they noticed in the future might not be a cause of minoxidil. 6. Lastly, the doctor himself said that they doesn't entirely know how this drug works. You won't how if this drug triggers cancer in some part of the body. My advice, use it, but only for a while till you find a girlfriend and stop using it later.
