tbf you can unlock the outfits in-game, after beating the game's story every 20 moons unlocks a new hat/suit (with the last one unlocking around 560 moons i think). Then you just buy them like any other outfit in the game.

40:12 - lol. this was me playing pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal when i was a kid, or maybe it was Ruby/Sapphire. i just remember a gym that was covered in ice and when you stepped on it, you slid all the way across the gym until you hit a boulder/trainer/the wall. it always got to the point where i had already beaten all of the trainers and would just be sliding around the fucking gym because i didn't want to bother figuring it out. i always fought every trainer i saw anyway, so it wasn't much of an inconvenience. it was probably in both generations, now that i'm thinking about it. there might even be a similar puzzle in every generation. even the first generation had something similar in a Team Rocket building with those tornado pads that slung you across the room into a wall/trainer. my process was the same for that as well lol
