Play therapy techniques for phone and audio sessions

Adjusting to the demanding changes in social isolation is challenging for most clients and mental health professionals. Child and play therapists who are only able to do audio/phone sessions face unique challenges in engaging, strengthening the clinical relationship, and competently intervening with clients. Hi, this is a really good question. I will do a video on running groups online. For now, I would recommend having a simple intervention lined up and create room for checking-in and for processing afterwards. Some of these activities really require children to be vocal abd confident. Many kids who seek help for so because they lack confidence. Hiw would you address that?

I tend to do a lot of processing in videos to give providers options. I would say if you have training in child-directed play therapy, the processing happens in the context of the play. I am getting ready to start videos again. I might provide some examples of this :)
