Thank you so much for your telehealth tips in working with children. Like the rest of us, I was thrown into telehealth therapy and just trying to figure out how to transition from in person therapy. It is different. It does require more preparation and work on the part of the therapist to keep the child engaged in session.

Mayleen, I truly LOVE the "Family Hand" activity. In fact, this very evening, I will be conducting a Zoom-Based Family Therapy Session that I was truly wondering what in the world I could do to engage them. This is a three-person family where the mom remarried and now the boy has a stepdad. Their relationship was good before his mom married this guy, but now, it's very strained. My guess is that the stepdad is now trying to feel more like a father and the boy is still looking for his playmate. Anyhoo, I love this activity. Please send more!!!

Good morning Is there a resource for me to have a virtual coloring sessions with my client who living with ADHD for virtual color therapy. For example we can have a coloring session like touching the screen as we talk.
@MeyleenVelasquez4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your question. I don't have a lot of experience in the treatment of ADHD, but for what you are asking, I can suggest trying screen sharing and maybe coloring on the program "paint." You can also try a mindful coloring page and have the client create a journey for each color to process the way they are feeling. I have a mindful coloring page I created that I can share with you if you'd like. Feel free to email me.

What ages would you recommend the squiggle game and drawing a hero activity for?
@MeyleenVelasquez4 жыл бұрын
I would say you can do both of the activities with children ages 4 and up. You will want to give directives that are age-appropriate "sillier" for younger children and more "down to earth" for teens.
