The solution to the save system is to make the Savior Schnapps yourself. All it takes is Belladonna and Nettles. Some people find the alchemy tedious and too life like. I actually quite enjoy it. Every playthrough, that's the first thing I do once the game opens up and allows you the freedom to do as you please.

I tried that recently and while I'm not sure I'd like to do it all the time, I thought it was a really cool system. I like how well they thought through stuff like this in the game.

@@JustPlayingTheClassics There's a way you can make Savior Schnapps rather fast. Skip all the boiling and grinding. Just put in the right base and throw in the ingredients in the right order.

The alchemy in this game is unmatched. The way you can discover recipes and upgrades to those recipes is perfect.

I did not join the Kickstarter campaign, but I bought KC:D shortly after launch. One of my favorite games; and much of the DLC hold up well. Combat mechanics - admittedly janky, and many of the style combos are nearly impossible. Great story, great characters, very good graphics! I hope they do release a quality sequel.

playing this game was stressful for me, with, hunger, sleep, difficult combat and limited saves, sometimes I would take breaks for weeks because of how stressful it was to have the possibility of dying and having my save rollback for an hour, after I got the hang of things, I finished the game very quickly, and it was one of the best games I ever played. there is a specific quest everyone seems to hate, but that I absolutely adore, it reminds me of cidhnas mine, but it done MUCH better Imo, I won't spoil anything.

I can definitely understand how someone might feel that way with the energy/hunger/etc systems in play. I really liked them myself, but I also enjoyed the Skyrim survival mod too. I kinda wonder which quest you're talking about, there's two I can kind of think of that could be the one. I am really loving the questlines in this game! I think I'm near the end of the main quest now.

It is no wonder that you haven't heard of this game. Back in early 2018 when it was released, Dan Vávra (the lead designer and owner of Warhorse Studios) talked about the importance of legacy gaming "influencers" (magazines, journalists) in USA and how they've ever cared for American and Japanese games only and how dismissive they have been of anything else. Thus ofc it hasn't become well known in the US, though it has been quite a hit in Europe.

@@JustPlayingTheClassics I think so, because watching the YT videos and reading the comments, the hype is unreal and they are full of people writing things like "I haven't even played the first game and I'm hyped" or "Just bought the first game and loving it". The word of mouth and YT influencers are doing so much heavy lifting when it comes to spreading the awareness. And Warhorse is ofc working closely with KZbinrs like SxyBiscuit, who have done a lot for its promotion over the years. I also think that if the success of Manor Lords earlier in April can be any indication (different genre, same time period, developer from Central Europe as well), the word of mouth could REALLY work wonders.

I know it’s a smaller development studio with limited resources but I really wish this game would get a 60fps update for current gen consoles. For whatever reasons it’s one of the few games I can’t acclimate to at 30fps, so I’ve only been 2-3 hours into a play through for years.

Hmm must have been. I've barely encountered any glitches, a couple character placement errors in cutscenes and whatnot but no real problems.
