sandstone neelde, i love the depletion lands. they're like a 1 mana rock stapled on a land. it can be annoying to have a tapped land but at least it feels like 2 in 1 card.

I think you’re 100% right in that Overloaded Cyclonic Rift with Hullbreacher banned means you don’t need to fear someone flashing it in if you want to wheel away everyone’s stuff afterwards and being bitten for it on the ass. Situationally better than anything winds of rebuke can do in my opinion even when it comes to bouncing your own dockside.

After watching so many videos from you guys, I slowly worked in cEDH cards into my decks. Sadly the playgroup I am in sometimes gets locked into games for a hour or two, only for the winner to feel unsatisfied. Thank god for loops so it doesn't happen anymore.

Even in cEDH, I've see so many games stopping because of a HB that made 21 useless treasures, with 7 cards that didn't really help winning. The only positive thing for me is that it made me rediscover a lot of "put cards in hand" cards! And now I still play them XD

I’m pretty new to CEDH. What value does Rograkh have? I’ve seen it in a few games now in CEDH, and it never seems to do anything. Why not run one of the other partners that create more of a value engine?

Im fairly sure its to hold up deflecting swat and that cycle of free spells and it also helps for one of the moxes mightbhave other uses as well

it may have been lost in the edit of the video, but if thoracle was the first card with tained, wouldn't have been exiled by the cards effect off the top?? gonna assume you edited out the exiling of the cards first but was confusing to watch personally

It shows him flipping(exiling) about 5 cards before it. Tainted just let’s you dig for the card you need as long as you don’t have many basics in the deck

If the first card exiled was thoracle he probably would have stopped there and put it into his hand since tainted pact doesn't require you to name the card beforehand like consultation does. The fact that the brain freeze was on top just made it easier for him to fill the grave to escape everything he needed

I totally agree that Hullbreacher shouldn't be banned in cEDH, and I think groups should consider it a Rule 0 topic if anyone wants to 'unban' something, because lots of that list isn't a problem in cEDH, despite being a nightmare in casual. I am biased though, because my deck is more affected by Opposition Agent, which would be more helpful to ban (and I do miss running Hullbreacher, but I just said 'fuck it' and tossed in another win con, because it only needed 1 extra card to work, and you know what's better than a Cyclonic Rift? Infinite extra turns).

He has a mana base specifically built around tainted pact. Esp. once you hit four colors, it's extremely easy to build a singleton land base. One thing you can do for lower color count decks is split your basics with snow-covered basics.

I've been testing sythis, the new one from MH2 and it is fast. Very fast, with some good stax options. But without counter magic to protect the important stax pieces or no stream lined way to consistently close out the game at a reasonable pace it just falls flat

@@antfayden I'm running Sythis too. I don't ask for this deck because I think it's going to keep up with Thrasios and company. I ask for it because every time the Play to Win group does a "best of..." video they put decks together that are utterly optimized--that is, they put a lot of thought into it. When they put together these optimized decks, it often inspires design decisions in my decks.

I have to hard disagree on Hullbreacher. I’ve had Comp games locked down for 5+ turns with that card, it doesn’t always win on the spot even at the highest level. I won’t miss that card one bit tbh 👋 (Loved your takes on it btw, fun to see the other side of the argument😆)

I believe the ilharg copy created by helm of the host doesn’t trigger it’s attack trigger since it wasn’t declared as an attacking creature it etb’d tapped and atracking, which shouldn’t trigger attacking tiggers
