WHO AM I
🤓 I'm Octave, a former cognitive science student and musician living in Paris. I got back into acting to improve my stage performance when I was singing at Open Mics, and ended up creating an acting school around my research (Paris Meisner Studio). I also studied different approaches of therapy and coaching, especially NLP and ericksonian hypnosis in which I am fully certified, and now in a long Gestalt therapy training. I got into film production firstly to document the work we were doing at the school and to produce students scenes. I have now just produced and co-directed our first short movie which will be out in the summer 2022. I do photography as a hobby and to practice composition and colour correction.

🏫 This is our acting school & research center in Paris. I developed it over the years, at first in order to train for free, and fly acting teachers (Meisner technique in particular) from all over the world to bring quality training where we were. It now hosts an original research program called "Meisner & systemic coaching" that mixes Meisner approaches and other acting techniques with tools from therapy, coaching, meditation, and scriptwriting and production principles.

Offering it to the camera and diversify it. Offering a series of choices. This is why I didn’t get the last audition. They weren’t as diverse. Perfect moment - casting Director loved it, camera loved it, Director loved it. Producer asked me to do something different and it was different but too close. Would have been a huge break but I appreciate the lessson deeply. And it makes me excited about nailing this

By u saying doing something different in each frame and u prepare u remember all the lines and u have to trust yourself and something unexpected will happens, do u mean like if a line says 'there are 24 hours in a day but today its 23' but when u actually do it u dont try to remeber each word it just comes out, but diffrrently each time like, 'there are 24 hours in a day today it is 23' does this make it more realistic and in your eyes u cant see the struggle or that ur focusing on trying to remember the lines??

Can anybody breakdown 3:18? I'm not quite sure what context hes talking about with the opposites thing. Does he mean PRACTICE the opposite reactions? I'm a bit lost on this one.

Well, i'm no expert, but i did take acting classes so I did learn about use of opposites. Its basically, reverse psychology. We use it all the time in reality. If a guy likes a girl, instead of going up to her and showing all the signs that he likes her, he may just act cool and uninterested, though he wants her. To show the character's want in a straightforward way is boring to the audience and untrue to life.

Aver Hamilton He suggests playing the opposite because he doesn’t want the actor to play the words or act out the lines. For example, an actor can say the lines “I love you” and also act in love. That is an example of an actor acting the lines he/she is saying. Another way to do it is to play the “opposite” or play it a different way. This is all up to the actor’s choice. Maybe the situation in that scene was that he was forced to say I love you or maybe he’s saying I love you because he’s leaving her. These are called subtext (you’re kind like digging deeper and trying to understand why he’s saying those words). There are so many ways to act out what you’re saying but that will get old and it’s usually uninteresting to the audience when you act your lines. To make the character you’re playing multidimensional, play or act the opposite or create a subtext to where the character can say one thing (ie: “I love you”) and mean another thing. Hopefully that makes sense.

Aver, playing for the opposite means you look for an objective and actions that are diametrically opposite from the obvious choice in the scene. You don't try to play the text, that can lead to "bad acting" and superficial choices. Try going for something unexpected, so you can surprise yourself. Hope that helps. You want to be a movie actor ? The movie industry for more than 50 years has been a monopoly controlling most of the world audiences except the Russian and the Chinese's audience ! owning the movie theater so no matter who makes a movie will be almost impossible to show there film ! Like most cooperations there into controlling the market ! Hollywood and the tv industry only take their relative or close friend to work in the film , and if they take an outsider for a specific role they will used them ones an make shore not to used them again so people will forget them . The (red camera )were for the first time ,the technology . that gave hope and room for those out side Hollywood hooves to create film and express them in small film festival . Today the technology and the internet can give you the freedom to your created your own movie ! Hollywood is a dying dinosaur ! Let them Rest In Peace ! Let the world for the first time show that they have talent and diversity and most of all the freedom to make movies ! And a platform to show their creativity !
