You have no idea how much this video helps me :P I was looking at the 4770k but just not comfortable with overclocking! Though like you said, I would prefer to keep it at stock. :P

Erigorn Games I've been super impressed with my 4790K. I know X99 is just around the corner but I don't see myself needing it for my needs. My Z97-WS with my 4790K rocks :)

I love this chip,keeping mine at 4.7 on air,eventually a closed loop.

I have a new i5-4690k on an ASUS Z97-A that replaced an FX-6300 @ 4.6 Ghz and I'm so happy with the performance at stock I don't even feel the need to overclock it.

Great video. I agree that going to a K chip is worth it for the OC ability but you don't necessarily have to do it.

Good video ... I also have a i7-4790k CPU (air cooled: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO), and like you I decided to leave it at stock speed (no OC). I'm just not comfortable with overclocking (lack of knowledge on my part) and I also prefer a quiet system ... 4.4 GHz (Turbo) is plenty fast for my needs.

Great video,im currently thinking to get a new PC rig GTX770,i7 4790K,HDD: Seagate 7200rpm,PSU DEEPCOOL "DA700 / Aurora", 700W, Dual Channel 16 GB (2x8 GB) Kingston,but didn't decide what motherboard to get,GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK, or GA-Z97X-Gaming G1 WIFI-BK, after seeing this video I might get the ASUS Z97-WS P.s great videos keep the good work.

Nice, did auto tune with my 4790k/Maximus VII Hero and got 4.6Ghz stable then I cleared cmos and did a manual overclock and got 4.6Ghz.stable so auto tune actually does a pretty good job. Just picked up a second GTX 780 for SLI, now I need to overclock them bad boys. Maybe you could do a video overclocking gpu's? I know I could definitely use some help in that department.

Just wanted to say thanks for the video. First one I've found that I'd extremely applicable to my build (4790k on a Asus Z97-PRO). I was really wondering if the overclock was really worth it as I'm looking to build a fairly quiet machine.

I'm looking into this but I'm very interested in how to undo my overclock through AI suite 2. How would I go about doing that? I really would like to know before I start with auto overclocking.

With the optimization, does it matter on what position the TPU and EPU switches are on motherboard? I understood it does not matter but is it true?
@otanan9 жыл бұрын
Can you just change the voltage later on? If that's possible I don't see the big deal, do it for the overclock then change the voltage to a stable one for 4.7ghz

Why run prime 95, if the system says don't. I understand why you would do it if you OC manually but it said it would change your settings.
