why would a blind person plug their headphones into an ATM?
@thecooldude99994 жыл бұрын

@richkawaiipikachu10 жыл бұрын
Aussie50 Well I think a WinXP compatible port of Doom should be able to be modded to use the printer instead of DosBox. Also I'm surprised that the maintenance keyboard lacks the alt & esc keys. Your explanation in the vid does make sense in terms of not letting people to fiddle around places where they not wanted. Yet still as the keyboard normally is tucked inside & out of the way of the hands of the general public I thought that means that it be out of the way of the sort of people that would do that. p.s. congratulations on managing to appear on Engadget.

Ah the NCR ATMs. Memories. Now if you could get an IBM 3624 to do something then that would be truly impressive. You guys have got this down cold. Great work. Those keypads are a bit of a black box. Each one has its own encryption key and if not set up correctly will brick without warning. Best to strip the electronics away from the keypad and use the buttons/switches. 2 Channel audio was intended to provide the *beep/boop* to the external speaker and a private audio jack for the visually impaired to whisper balances etc through a 3.5mm audio jack.

Jeez, I wish games nowadays were this compattable with most hardware. I thought that being able to play Doom on a CAS Calculator was incredable enough, but *THIS*: When I first heard this, I thought "F#*%ing Bullsh#t, there's no way Doom can be THAT compattable" I'm glad I was wrong. & people think mediocre games like Fish (secifically Cod) Rings (Halo) & Battlefield are the "True next gen" games. Doom has smashed all of them. Now I must say: FANTASIC EFFORT & SKILL at doing this, & I wish you best of luck with your endevors to make Payday: The Heist for this ATM. Are you planning to stick the numpad and the other buttons on the ATM? 1 and 3 can be used to look left and right. 2, 4, 5 and 6 as WSAD standard. the button below Enter can be used to open. Fire can be set in a button from that column of buttons. And run could be 7, the button below 7, or one from the 4th column
@Aussie5010 жыл бұрын
yeh the pin pad will go back on and be remapped to arrows or WASD depending on what game is being played. I'm also wondering if the chip card reader could read a command executable off a card too :D, print new cards, 1 for each game, then when the card goes in, it triggers the executable and loads the game.

Now that would be a cool idea, have a doom arcade machine made out of this, put in a toonie or something, play for a while, at the end enter your name along with your score, and you could get a receipt for time played, score, name, and the amount of times killed/ kill count (if you can get that information from doom) That would be badass. Call it DoomATM. Could even have a little logo on the receipt. I could whip something up quickly in photoshop if you liked.
