Man that was a fun stream, even if I did watch it hours later. I wish I could have been there for the chat though. You and Darryl’s videos lately have been so nostalgic, been loving them. Man I’d love to just hang out with you both and game and have some beer. I’m all the way up in Washington state though - damn geography! I just turned 46 in July. I think I mentioned before that I was 16 when KI came out in the arcade and I was dating a girl named Lindsay. We played the game at the bowling alley when it first dropped. Been in love ever since. With KI, not Lindsay, lol. We actually dated through high school, and I ended up moving to Alaska and had to finish school there. We dated for another year or so long distance, but decided to go our separate ways. We are still good friends now. Anyway, thanks for the good time.

I'm definitely feeling the nostalgia lately! I think the 30 year anniversary of KI is really catching up to me. Wow Alaska is a real long distance relationship! It's cool you're still friends today.

KI Arcade hardware specs: Main CPU : SDT79 R4600-100MS @ 50MHz Sound : DCS Sound System (ADSP-2105 @ 10MHz) Just leaving this as a clarification to what I said in the video!

I learned all the combos on this version and then kicked arse on the arcade.

I primarily used it as practice for the arcade, it felt enough like the arcade gameplay to make it very useful.

I do like the SNES Audio. Only for nostalgia purposes. But its impressive what the was able to do with compressing the CD Quality audio from the arcade.... Funny how all the guitar sounds inntje arcade. Was replaced with like a slide whistle sound. Or even like a flute or recorder. Sounds kinda coool. Almost like a early 2000s ringtone..MIDI.

I remember the commercial when SNES KI came out. "Its just like the F'kin arcade!"..."Fuck the arcade!"...lol.... I had the SNES version in 1995. Got in on a friday. The following friday i went to Six Flags here in Atl. Went to the arcade by the scream machine. Saw Mk3. Was blown away.... the right across from mk3. Was the Arcade version of KI..... 13 year old me was like..." The fuck.... the commercial was wrong!"..."Fuck this!".. Eveey since then i was obsessed with KI. AND KI2. More importantly. I really was obsessed with having arcade perfect ports of fighting games...needless to say. Consoles did not hold up too well with arcade fighters. But the console fighters are a really get nostalgic trip.

That was fun. It’s a trip to see how they cut down these games for weaker hardware. Mk2 is fun too. I know that game well. I think I appreciate the console versions even more over the years. It obviously looks different but for a moment here or there you actually feel like you’re playing the arcade. Would love to see a video on how they scaled them back.

I agree with you about having out of universe characters on MK. I rather fill those slots with more mk characters instead

10:23 Same here! I hate it when they do that; it breaks the immersion. I love MK9, though.
