I think that draft in Gwent has certain advantages that you might be missing. For one, it is a great training mode for new players. New players in Draft will run into a lot of cards that they might not add (or be able to add) to their decks. Learning how to use these cards do and don't work is valuable experience for deckbuilding or facing these cards in the future. For two, it is a tool for more experienced players to learn tactics rather than just have a flowchart understanding of whatever deck they copied verbatim from a streamer. If you are playing against an unfamiliar deck or a wacky homebrew and you have no idea what is coming next, it is very helpful to understand how cards can interact in non-standard situations so you can alter your strategy in real time. You can achieve the same thing by playing Patience Is A Virtue, but that is only occasionally available, and the stakes for winning or losing are non-existent, as opposed to Draft where more winning gets you (mostly) better rewards. For three, Draft is a good perspective-changing tool for advanced players who might be stuck in well-worn meta ruts. I have had some interesting epiphanies while playing Draft that have caused my to tweak my decks or even try to invent completely new one. And for four, Draft is a good refuge for when the ladder is dominated by OP nonsense caused by idiotic BC changes. Seasonal used to fulfill this use case too, but because the devs didn't get around to tweaking them, most Seasonals are dominated by one faction or even one card, and are as painful to play as a broken meta. At least with Draft, if there are broken cards or broken combos, everyone has the same random chance to add them to their decks, and those broken things might even be rendered moots by the cross-Faction nonsense that Draft can give to those who recognize it. Draft is 10% luck and 90% pure tactics versus tactics. It's a great place for people who like to play, but aren't willing to grind meta to reach Top 200 Pro. Draft is far from perfect--the lack of an ability to guarantee fulfillment of necessary deckbuilding requirements is a big flaw--but it's a great counterbalance to an unforgiving ladder.

For sure there are things Draft is great for and I'm aware of your points. I'm not saying it's a bad game mode or anything, I'm glad it's in the game, just that to me it's not quite as strong as the similar Arena modes in other card games are. I honestly don't know how they could've fixed it given the provision system and I think they did the best they could. To me as someone who knows a decent amount about the game (I think) losing the ability to be able to predict what the opponent will do and leverage the weaknesses of their deck just feels bad. To me it can seem a bit too random at times and drafting a deck where you didn't get any synergies (basically no Inspired Zeal targets in this example) can be a problem. There's still a lot of fun to be had in Arena with things you can't do in standard, but it doesn't make me want to play it all the time.

@@platinumpatrol2964 Honestly, Arena should have some kinda of provision cap on each of the options you get, that way it would be more in line with 3 diferent options you could get if they were fairer in provisions. Other problem is that compared to the old one it had way more interesting fun combinations (like 3 geralts, 3 crones, triple thinners, etc) while this one a lot of times we get some very random combinations with lots of bricks (like the vabjorn one who made you stuck with one less card for a long duration) and also a lot of package with some good cards and one stinker and you had this ankward moment of do I remove this good package to get rid of the stinker or do i just stick with it? All of that combine to a messy experience to say the least

It was a interesting video. I tired Draft many moons ago and was tilted soon after. I'm glad your matches didn't go down the RNG shit hole. And, yeah, its crazy how provisions don't matter, big part of the game gone. But, it was fun to watch though, when you won. Earlier matches it just seems you lost the RNG battle in the drafting phase. I wonder what the rewards would've been if you won all seven!

I don't understand, why witcher at 24:52 died? He had 3 hp left from dryad attack and then got hit again from what?

He has the Clash ability: Units simultanously damage each other by their power.

I'm assuming you haven't played Witcher 3 because you're saying some of the character names differently like Regis, Lebioda, Thaler and I'm not thrashing you or anything like that. Just saying if you haven't played it please give it a try. Anyways good gameplays as always.

I've played Witcher 3 and loved it but that was 7 or 8 years ago, and I didn't really remember the names when I started playing Gwent.
