about the main gripe of "no way to see the item descriptions." I'm pretty sure after the co-op thing comes out, Edmund has said that they'll probably work on a way to see item descriptions in game, built in. For now though, the External Item Descriptions mod is a pretty good alternative.

The thing is that you need at some point to get all the items. I’m hoping for some sort of “first time we don’t tell what the item is” one you try it we will tell you from then on.

This channel is criminally underrated. I think it's so cool that you got to interview Florian. He seems like a total goofball, so it makes sense that Binding of Isaac ended up the way it did between his influence and Edmund's twisted mind. As someone that has achieved the Platinum Trophy for Binding of Isaac and then went on to play several hundred hours on PC with mods, it really is one of those games that just grabs ahold of you and refuses to let go.

Thanks for the lovely comment! I'm taking a short break just to recharge, but will be making some slight tweaks to the reviewing random games format that should help this channel get a bit more exposure! Working with Florian on this video was really fun! He's got a great sense of humour and was totally game for my proposed questions. I'm loving Binding of Isaac so far. Made a quick pivot to Children of Morta just to play a roguelite that doesn't fully try to make me feel inadequate, but I'll probably be doing another run or two in Isaac tonight.

The biggest part about this game that people seem to miss is the resource management. I have never seen a game with this many items, consumables, equables and actives, that all have very flexible usecases. Lots of people will say this game is very RNG heavy, but its crazy how much you can do to increase your odds of winning if youre just smart with how you use what you get instead of complaining that its bad and you got a bad run

judging by where you're at right now, you're only at the tip of the iceberg my friend. in terms of major bosses there's still: - satan, which you mentioned, final boss of the sheol - isaac, yes you fight him, final boss of the cathedral they become available after killing moms heart enough times. killing satan and isaac enough times will grant you access to the DARK ROOM and CHEST - the lamb, final boss of the dark room - ???, otherwise known as the blue baby, final boss of the chest when you get to these areas you may notice a huge yellow gate in the first room. after beating either of these bosses you get the way to open the gate. take angel deals and bomb the angel statues to trigger a miniboss. do this twice to get the two key pieces. you can use them to unlock the gate and fight MEGA SATAN!!! now... onto the even crazier stuff - if you beat moms heart fast enough a door to a new area called ??? (or the Blue Womb) will show up. you're given a plethora of items before you go in to fight the almighty Hush. they're the most difficult up to this point so be careful. - upon beating hush, a door to the right of their arena will show up, as well as ominous portals that can show up after major bosses at a chance. this will lead you to the super hard boss floor for DELIRIUM. and as for the repentance contact such as The Beast... i'll let you figure that out on your own. it's too good to spoil!! great review btw. i highly encourage you to play onward and at least do all the major bosses :D

I remember seeing The Binding of Isaac being introduced to me when I was much younger when KZbin was starting to flourish and become a proven method of making money and fame. while I never was able to play the game at those times, years later when I finally found the time to get the game I never stopped showing how much passion I had for such a simplistic and gruel game that has very interesting views. glad I came across the game, hopeful the game gets less crashes still though.

Great review. For a "hardcore' community like that of the Binding of Isaac, it's easy to forget that there are always new people playing who have no idea what they're getting into when they hear the concept of this game. Not everyone has a 500+ hours in the game and understands most of its ins and outs. It's refreshing to see the game from the perspective of someone who knew nothing about it only a few days/weeks ago. When you really think about it, it's crazy how none of us really think twice about the themes and messed up and controversial content of this "funny little game" that we love and just accept them as a part of tBoI. There's so much to love about this game and I wish that the game did a bit of a better job letting you know just how insane it can get from the start, but that aspect of "absolutely no hand-holding" and random unlocks is something that does define tBoI. It's just a shame that so many people who drop this game immediately don't even know what they're missing out on.

The problem with the game is bloat. They added way too much items, bloating item pool. When it just released, there was a solid pool of powerful items and you had a decent chance to get a victory combo. But with add-ons they added more and more bad, joke, or bad joke items, at the same time adding more difficulty. As a result, getting that powerful combo you mentioned is just... highly unlikely. Items like brimstone, or sets like Guppy can as well not exist. And lack of item description makes this worse. Original item pool was not too big, so you could learn what item does what in reasonable amount of games. But now? You can play for days, getting new items that you have no idea what are doing but they are likely to ruin your run.
@RandomGameReviews10 ай бұрын
I agree with this but I'm ok with the chaos
@Feranogame10 ай бұрын
That only an issue for knowing what the items do. The pool itself is really balanced to have enough items of all types. They add new straight up good stat ups every update just to balance that. Once you learn your stuff, it is an amazing experience
@ObIitus10 ай бұрын
@@Feranogame Problem is not with the flat stats upgrade, the problem is things that make a real difference. For example, what are chances to assemble something fun like a combo of bomb instead tears, bombs that shoot tears and brimstone? Non-existent now. And the game is just bland without such combos.
@Feranogame10 ай бұрын
@@ObIitus The broken combos of getting multiple weird items just don't happen every run now. I don't think it is so much an overabundance of items, as such combos were most common during Afterbirth+ of all expansions, but how the game's design changed during Repentance. You can still consistently get them if you play with the right character though, such as Isaac, Tainted Lost and regular Lost, etc. it is just that most regular runs won't have a massive combo, but if you play your cards right you'll still get a pretty decent build that has at least one really exciting item in it.
@Feranogame10 ай бұрын
As an addendum: that's my opinion. If you feel the game is not as fun anymore because you liked getting the more exciting items often, that's a valid opinion. I'm just saying I really enjoy the experience of Repentance, which is expected as I'm reaching 950 hours on the game
