I do believe that pallette was made for that set and I believe there is a specific way to place them I think Mind of Watercoloring had a video on it.

I'll have to look at it. Although, we all have our own preferences for how we set up our palettes, so I don't often watch standardized ways :). I'm not sure if it was made for it, but you could be right. Reason being is they sell the pure pigment set in various sizes and that bulletproof is actually sold as a 36 well set. But hey, never know! Either way, they were both super fun to play with :). I'll definitely check out the channel.

The palette made for the set is a different one, but the palette she has there is also nice, barely stains, and is my all around favorite palette I personally have.

I don't care for to many browns in my pallette, however that red brown is stunning! As soon as you swatched it I thought of a beautiful chestnut horse lol The cobalt black is nice to have for granulation ... very nice video, thankyou 😊
@ColorfullyOptimistic

Yes, that red brown is beautiful! I don't normally do tons of browns either, since most of my work is florals, but still, I like to have them for those moments I suddenly feel like going landscape mode.

Thank you so much for this video. I've had my eye on these watercolors because of health reasons. I love that they are so bright. Like you showed, they lighten beautifully. I enjoy doing landscapes so I would add some more browns. Greens I can mix with this pallette. I'm going to start saving for these paints. I hope you feel better soon. I had Covid in July. It's definitely not fun. ❤

Are you vaccinated? Just asking because no one in my household is vaccinated and we’ve never had covid, everyone I know that has had covid is vaccinated so I’m just curious as to why that is happening. What are your thoughts?
@christinegeertgens8610
@christinegeertgens8610 2 жыл бұрын
@@The_Lion_And_The_Lamb no I'm not. I got it from a friend who was vaccinated. We were on vacation together and in close proximity. I've noticed too, that most who get it are vaccinated. My friend believes the newer strains of Covid come from the vaccines. I don't know.
@christinegeertgens8610

@@The_Lion_And_The_Lamb To be fair, I had the original Covid before the vaccines. It was horrible. It took a couple of months to get over it. What I had in July wasn't fun, but I was better within a couple of weeks. So the strains are milder.
@ColorfullyOptimistic
@ColorfullyOptimistic 2 жыл бұрын
Awe I'm sorry to hear about the COVID. Browns are definitely lacking in here, but I don't use brown as much, so what they gave works for me. I will definitely need to make myself more greens, but that's easy enough.

I love mine! The only suggestion I would make to anyone buying is, have a black haired brush. They do stain but, it's only because they are so full of pigment & the rich beautiful color is worth the stains 😉
@ColorfullyOptimistic

Interesting. I'll check out the staining. So, do you find they stain the paper quite a bit too then? They won't lift as well?
@ER-vv3rh
@ER-vv3rh 2 жыл бұрын
@@ColorfullyOptimistic hi, I have been using that paints. The pigments are very fine, so that stains your brushes and palettes, so they have made bullet proof palette for that reason. But I haven't found any problem lifting. Cobalt colors are super good for lifting, and other colors are good,too.

I’ve got 46 of their 49 pure pigments, I filled in from an ebay seller in S Korea, before prices went crazy and before they became available open stock here. I have a Cobalt Violet Brilliant from them that I’ve only seen fron that Korean seller. It leaves all other pink cobalt violets in the dust. I adore all my colors, even though I think their earths selection is weak, the yellow ochre is very opaque, but I have enough DS to take care of that. The Prussian blue in the tube is beautiful, although greys out in sunlight like all Prussian blues. The one in the pan was problematic, it was concrete. The gold ochre is more a raw sienna, very useful in certain situations.

I'm really loving their paints myself. That's great you were able to snag them for cheap! They are pretty expensive, but I'm happy that I can go purchase ones I'm missing from the pure pigment set open stock and try them out.

Oooh love! Did you get much granulation out of them? I tend to buy single pigment colours, so this set will have to go on the wish list. I think it’s great that the colours are so strong straight out of the tube, they will last you a long time. Thanks for sharing these ❤️
@ColorfullyOptimistic

So only two were really granulating, but that's because the natural pigment granulates for it.

Could we place the hardened tube in to warm water? Would that help loosen it up? Or no?
@ColorfullyOptimistic

No. It ne3eds to physically contact water, but you can cut the bottom of the tube, pull it out and treat it like a dried watercolor.

Yes! I thought I had mentioned in the video, but maybe it was a different one (did a lot of watercolor filming that day haha), that you can have paints with the same pigment, but a different color, because it is all about how much of that pigment is used.

I have a strange question. I took part in a watercolour workshop last month learning basic watercolour techniques which started with the explanation of painting on wet and dry. In this class painting on wet meant putting a wash of water on your paper before laying on colooand then of course dry was laying colour on dry paper. You said you were swatching dry to wet. Did you lay water down on half of the square or did you mean something completely different? Sorry for the stupid question from the watercolour Neanderthal.
@ColorfullyOptimistic
@ColorfullyOptimistic 2 жыл бұрын
I swatch wet-to-dry, meaning the paint and brush are wet, but the paper is dry and not pre-wet. Apologies if I said dry-to-wet...must have been an oopsies, but yes, I always swatch dry, because that's typically how I paint.

I love my Mijello paints. I have the 36 gold set that comes with the palette. I also have the 34 pure in a generous sample set I purchased off Ebay. I also purchased the 34 pure tube ends from the same seller but didn't check the colors until several months later when I wanted to top off my half pans and was disappointed to discover I was sent the regular colors. Bummer, but lesson learned. This is a seller I have purchased from many times and trust. I know she would have made it right at the time and probably still would but it's my fault for not checking. I would also like to try the PWC/SWC Shinhan large tube set. I'm obsessed and have sooooo many sets.

I have never paid for India watercolors. I'm confused. Are they a brand? Or are you talking about India inks? Paying that little for paint makes me worry about what might be in them. But we all can spend our money on what we want and there should never be judgment 😁
@phillipstroll7385
@phillipstroll7385 2 жыл бұрын
@@ColorfullyOptimistic what judgement? I didn't pass judgment just information. No, in taking about artist grade watercolor paints from India. You don't have to worry about what is in them because they list ingredients, pigment info and lightfast ratings. Price never equates quality. Only brand and marketing. Don't forget before 1970 Gucci was a Kmart brand. Nothing changed about Gucci clothing but their marketing. Hence, why you'll never see anyone born before 1975 wearing Gucci. I'm not telling you what to buy. I'm merely a painter with 60 years experience sharing information. If I meant India inks I would have said India inks.
