It definitely seems like a lot of KZbinrs out there just convert text guides to video. I have been guilty of not knowing as much about how things work as I would like to, but I do my best to try and understand how the things I talk about work and keep an eye on whether or not they're still working. If there's an issue with one of my videos or if they stop working for some reason, I try to get it resolved ASAP and learn why.

thanks you saved me a purchase. i bought a aqua slim used and it came with 3.61 and all the tutorials point to the wifi update to 3.60 henkaku which i cant do and no one was explaining how to manually update when getting that dumb error (error C3-12049-6) where it thinks 3.61 is the latest firmware.

um no, reinstalling 3.65.pup with enso installed will not brick your console. it will reinstall and enso will be uninstalled. the issue with bricks was people where updating from 3.60 to 3.65 then opening the enso application and clicking "UNINSTALL" (When it wasnt even installed) and then enso tried to uninstall by reverting to factory (3.60) MBR which bricked the console. in newer versions of enso installer they added a check and it'll say "Uh yea its not installed!" mm there are times where you need to reinstall 3.65 anyway such as if u bricked but can still access safemode, reinstlaling will unbrick it and then you just install enso again and go

Good to know. Thanks for the information! It seems I was a little mistaken in the cause of the bricks people were running into. Makes sense thinking back on it. So it may not be QUITE as relevant, but I still feel like it is a good suggestion just in case people somehow get their hands on an older version of Enso. I may make a video to explain what you've just explained to me.

C:\Users\Casteel\Documents\PSV Updates folder wasn't appearing for me initially. After I clicked OK on QCMA something loaded. I opened QCMA again. The second time I looked for the folder, I copied the location text and pasted it in the file browser and it showed right up. Everything else went smoothly. Thanks for the video.

It's connected via USB and in flight mode? You put the 3.65 file in the correct folder and renamed it properly? You set the proper settings in QCMA? If all those are true, maybe try rebooting the computer and trying again.

H-encore doesn't persist reboots, so as long as you reboot your Vita, then upgrade without running h-encore, you should be fine.

Glad to hear you got it working and glad I could help! For Homebrew, I would highly recommend emulators. The Vita is a great emulator. It has enough buttons and is powerful enough to run most things decently. After that, my go-to's are Vita HomeBrew Browser (VHBB) and Autoplugin. I have a video on how to install both of them in my hack the Vita playlist. VHBB will be your gateway to installing lots of other awesome Homebrew. No problem! So basically, you need to have henkaku running in order to run any Homebrew. This includes emulators. There are a few ways to get henkaku running, but once you do that, since you are on 3.65, I would recommend you get Enso up and running. Enso will automatically run henkaku for you whenever you turn on your Vita so you don't have to run anything, you can just run your Homebrew instantly. There is a video about installing Enso in my playlist as well. Let me know if you have any more questions. :)

Hi there, i have followed all the steps and then it did not connect to my pc. so i restarted the pc and got it working, it attempted to install 3.65 and appeared to be successful until i recieved "An error has occured (C3-3814-6) ". I have continously attempted to install but recieve that error message towards the end of the installation of 3.65. any ideas? any help?

The red and black one isn't the best, but it also isn't the worst. I forget the specifics, but you may have issues closing the lid on the card slot all the way if you have an old Vita. Worst case scenario is it annoying and you can buy a V5 (white one) but it should still work fine. I don't plan on providing support for PKGj due to the nature of it, but I will point out that it is available in the Vita HomeBrew Browser and it is incredibly easy to configure using Autoplugin. Both of those wonderful pieces of Homebrew are talked about in my playlist.

No problem! It depends on what firmware you are on now. If you are on 3.60 or 3.65, you can hack with h-encore than install Enso by watching the corresponding videos in this video's playlist. That will give you persistent Homebrew access. If you're not on one of those firmwares, I would recommend getting there. I don't currently have videos for how to downgrade from the newest firmware, but I do have videos for 3.71 and lower. Start by letting me know what firmware you currently have installed and I will point you in the right direction.

Try copying and pasting rather than dragging and dropping. You aren't the first person that drag and drop has acted weird for. Check QCMA's settings to make sure that the firmware isn't set to 0.00 or 3.65 On a side note, why on Earth would you want to upgrade from 3.65 to 3.70? 3.6(5) is where you want to be, even with the new hack on 3.70. The upgrade is 100% not worth it.

I'm still a little confused... What firmware are you on right this second? 3.70 is bad. 3.65 is good. I try to avoid talking about getting isos. While you might open the games, you also might not, which crosses the line into piracy. I'll just leave it at look into PKGj.

What did you upgrade to? You should upgrade to 3.65 at the highest if you can. If you're already on 3.67, then 3.68 is fine. What are you still having trouble with?

@@BytePen I went to 3.65 (I was on 3.52) just like the vid here. But I went to grab a file thru pkgi and it called for 3.68 firmware. There's a way to install a patch but the pkgi app will not make the folder where the firmware patch needs to placed.

I'm trying to think how an upgrade for you would work... I believe that you would be able to upgrade following this without a problem, but you will need to hack your Vita again when you get to 3.65. Your Homebrew and plugins and everything should be unaffected, but will not work until you hack on 3.65. Worst case scenario, I know your games will stay there, but you might have to reinstall your plugins. With that said, there is absolutely no advantage on being on 3.65 over 3.60. Everything works just fine on both firmwares AFAIK. I personally would just leave it on 3.60.

It should be. Why do you want to upgrade to 3.68? 3.65 or 3.60 are the best firmwares to be on.

I would highly recommend not upgrading to 3.68. Upgrade to 3.65. You can do everything you can do on 3.68, but you do not have to hack every time you reboot. If you meant you are currently on 3.67, then yes, you can update to 3.68. You shouldn't need a PSN account as far as I know.

Not with these instructions, no. There is a setting in QCMA that permits you to use the file, but I don't see an advantage to it since it adds difficulty and these instructions provide the same results.

Maybe make sure that you have file extensions visible. If it ended up being PSP2UPDAT.PUP.PUP because the second file extension isn't visible, it isn't going to work. Also make sure that UPDAT isn't UPDATE with an E.

@@BytePen thanks for your help but i already fixed it! I was on 3.63 and updated it first to a jailbreak version. Then with upgrader.vpk to 3.65 cfw and now everything work!

( PLEASE HELP :) ) hello, i have a psp vita 1001 model. it has the 3.60 firmware. i am using a laptop running windows 7 i have the content manger installed. i disabled the usb as a power source when initially the psp was not recognized by the windows 7 system. i have tired updating using the content manager program running and turned off. both times it gives error code (C3-11038-3) i have downloaded the PUP file a second time , but was given the same error code.

Assuming you are on Windows, go to the folder that the .PUP is in, hold down the shift key and right click any white space. Click "Open powershell window here". Copy and paste the command "Get-FileHash .\PSP2UPDAT.PUP -Algorithm md5" and make sure that the output is "0A0F2A9AE58968AC5D1D2127049C3CBA"

Sony recently made it so you cannot hack 3.70 if you don't have the game you intend to hack already

I have a problem with my ps vita fhat wifi version. My auntie bought me a new ps vita from canada, it was a brandnew unit with a factory fw of 1.67. But when it is jailbreaked into henkaku 3.68 Gpu Crash started to be seen. So i do some experiment about the plug ins maybe the plugins is not right. But in random ive got gpu crash. We try to downgraded to 3.65 enso using moduru then after 1 hour of playing still have gpu crash. Others says that my problem is my motherboard so need to replace it but i was confused, if my motherboard was a problem even it is a brandnew model, how come i can play without any gpu crash in my unit using my game catridges? If the mobo is the issue? What i have notice is that everytime i'd run henkaku 3.68 or 3.65 enso GPU CRASH occur. Even I'd play only using my sony mmc still got gpu crash. What plugins must i be use? Im only used shellbat,nonpdrm,download_enabler. Some says that i need to reformat all sd2vita,sony mmc and internal mem and i never do that because dont know how to do it. What is the cause of this annoying issue. Need help please. Thanks.

I have a guide on both how to install Enso and how to uninstall Enso in my hack the Vita playlist. If you're trying to start completely over, it might not be the worst idea to just to do a factory reset with the recovery menu option. I have a problem , ive accidentally delete my uro tai folder and then it restarted and a pop up message appear says need to reformat memory card in order to use. And a system need an update. All my vitashell ang previous henkaku bubbles are gone. But everytime it restarted, the logo of enso still there. Im on 3.65 enso but i think its gone now because when i see system fw, all i can see is 3.65 but not henkaku or kanji characters on it. What should I do sir? Thanks in advance.

Do you have both a ux0:tai/config.txt and a ur0:tai/config.txt? If so, copy the contents of both these files to pastebin or something and I'll take a look at them. You should only have your plugins in one location. I recommend keeping them in ur0 because they will always be loaded regardless of what memory card is where.

Why would you want to update to 3.68 from 3.65? 3.65 is definitely the firmware to be on and I would highly recommend you stay there. If you let me know what you're having issues with on 3.65 that you think 3.68 would fix, I can probably help you fix it on 3.65. If you really want to upgrade, you should be able to uninstall Enso as shown in my "Playstation Vita: Uninstall Enso" video. After that, you can update as shown in this video.

Check out PKGj. I don't plan on making a video about it due to the legality of it, but there are plenty of tutorials out there already. If you check out my Vita HomeBrew Browser video, you can use that to install PKGj. If you check out Autoplugin, there is a menu option to setup PKGj. From there, you can open PKGj and find Persona. You can install a compatibility pack for it that will allow any of your 3.67+ games to run on 3.65. If you are dead set on uninstalling Enso and upgrading to 3.68, check out the first video in my Hacking the Vita playlist. If you don't have the compatibility packs set up in your config file, there will be no option to install them. I would go ahead and have Autoplugin set up your config file again and then force a refresh from the PKGj menu. I tested Persona 3 on my 3.65 Vita for you and can confirm it works just fine.

@@brandongreen8895 from what I can gather online, it would appear this is a network issue. The DNS trick doesn't work anymore, so you would need to use the QCMA method in this video. If you are getting this message while you are trying to do the QCMA update, it sounds to me like it is still trying to reach out to the internet for something. Do me a favor and remove the DNS from your network settings and rewatch the video and make sure everything is exactly as it is in the video, then try to update again with QCMA. Make sure it is prompting for 3.65 and NOT 3.73. Let me know if you're still having issues after this.
