@@CharginChuck one of my favorite shrines I did was one that I could not figure out the intended solution. You were supposed to pick up the laser and put it on this moving platform and it would hit the crystal and move the stairs up and down. Totally forgot you could pick up the lasers. So I got to the second highest stair with no way to hit the crystal. Couldn't hit it from where I was due to a high wall. My solution was to put an octo balloon on a bomb. Give it momentum forward by hitting it with an arrow then popping the balloon and detonating the bomb to hit the crystal. I love that when you ask i wonder if i can do this and the answer is yes even though thats clearly not the actual solution. They teach you the mechanics of the world and then let you use them how you see fit. That game is all about freedom and it was so refreshing having a game trust you to learn and apply the mechanics in unique ways.

I'm a tad worried you'll accidentally run into some great stream material whilst you wander the world off camera. There are some fascinating thing that are waaay off the beaten path including - but not limited to - minibosses, special locations, wandering NPCs that don't appear to be of much importance but are absolutely vital to the lore, and of course shrines that feel like the devil imagined in his wildest dreams. Besides, I imagine most of the people who tune into your BOTW streams do so to see you wander aimlessly (AFTER you obtain all the requisite key items for wandering). Take it at your own pace. Whether you aim to finish the story or explore everything this world has to offer, we'll watch either way.
@poke5484 жыл бұрын
I figure he can probably activate shrines on stream but keep it moving, then teleport back and complete them on his own time. It's something to do, and they do teach critical thinking and combat skills useful for the game, but also not much is lost. Most shrines aren't terribly interesting to watch unless it's crazy speedrunning stuff.
@CharginChuck4 жыл бұрын
That's the magic of BotW. Straying from the beaten path, exploring every nook and cranny of the world to find things that aren't technically "necessary" to progress in the game, but are still rewarding to find. Every shrine, sidequest, village, traveller, enemy camp, miniboss, korok... They always feel worth the effort to seek out. BotW's world is more fun and engaging to explore than any other game I've ever played. So by all means, feel free to meander, to take your time exploring. That joy of discovery that's so unique to this game is exactly what we want to see.

The fun thing about this game is that the Shiekah monks congradulate you on your rescourcefullness, not on doing things the 'right' way, because there is no right way to do the puzzles. Thinking outside the box is something you learn to do. Like certain puzzles that use tilt controls later on.

I just wanted to say that I am THROUGHLY enjoying this play-through! It’s amazing watching someone experience this game for the first time like this…it’s giving me the opportunity to re-live my first playthrough all over again. I think this game can be summed up as, “…a game about the journey, NOT the destinations…”. It’s all about the things that you encounter in between the missions, IMO. Continue to take your time and just BREATHE the game in…you will not regret it. Can’t wait to watch more!!!

Hey Deebee. Got some Info for you. You can quick swap your Bow and arrows the same way you do your Weapons and Shield. Just Press the ZR Button to draw your bow (Works even if you dont have one equipt) and then Press Left or Right on the D-Pad while still holding down ZR. This will alow you to quickly change your bow and choose diffrent types of Arrows without having to pause all the time. Also there is a Shrine in the town you are in. Dont miss it, its an important one and will teach you some skills.

FYI, the thing where the chickens try to kill you if you attack them is in every Zelda game. It’s a very famous Easter egg

This is awesome! Brings back so many good memories of my first playthrough. I'm still playing the game since it was released and I'm still finding new places and new stuff all over. Don't worry if you get sidetracked. That's the best part of this game. Explore, explore and explore some more. Yeah... Zelda is still fighting that monster by herself, but if you feel the need to chase Billy the goat around... heck... go on ahead. What's one more rock to turn, one more hill to climb, one more chicken to bludgeon ;)... one more hill you can SHIELD SURF! Oops! Did I said that aloud? Muahahahaha! Just enjoy the experience man. This game is absolutely amazing. It did win game of the year for a reason. Have fun!!!

You didn't do too much but that's the beauty of this game ! You start your play with the intention of going somewhere/doing something specific and then you spot those little things along your journey and you start wondering of ! To me that's the best thing about this game, it's not just a big open world in which you go aimlessly to your next marked location and so on. And you will know that this way of getting pulled away from the main quest by all those little things was much intended and very carefully planned by the developers. Once you're done with the main story, I strongly recommend you search for videos of the developing team explaining all the work they did for this game, it's very interesting ! Anyways, it's really enjoyable to see you play, brings back so much memories of my play !

I love it so much when people new to Zelda experience this masterpiece because it give me so much joy to see genuine first timer reactions to such a heavily lore charged game that even tho it references certain events from other games can still have such a powerful effect for newcomers. This game is the epitome of Zelda narrative and you've earned my subscription

Fun fact: The divine beasts are named after sages from the zelda Franchise. Mainly from Ocarina of time, except Medoh. Vah Radunia: Darunia is the Fire Sage in Ocarina of time Vah Medoh: Medli, a sage and important charcater in The Wind Waker, where Rito originate Vah Ruta: Ruto, the water sage from Ocarina of time Vah Naboris: Nabooru, the Spirit Sage from Ocarina of time. Also the names of structures are big references to other zelda games (you'll literally see a "ruto lake" as a place, iirc)

Thinking ahead mate, once you near the end of the game, everyone is going to ask you to play master mode. I want you now to start considering it, because once you reach that point you'll need a strong head if you want to say no because that sheer amount of people is daunting. Don't do it if you don't want to kind of thing. Welcome to the internet. Stay safe okay and enjoy the game

Master Mode has more new features than in some previous Zelda games, but it still doesn't compare to the second quest in Zelda 1. Probably not terribly worth doing.
