Thanks a lot for your work, these new "game design microdose" videos are great! Please, continue making them! :D

You should probably add "Game Design" to the thumbnail, though. I just clicked on the video because I knew it was yours and I knew about these new videos you are trying.

The portal visual when you're talking about observed playtesting is great because that's exactly what valve did; they had the devs sit in audience seating behind the players, and said that they couldn't say anything to the player, so they had to sort of silently agonize whenever a player failed to understand what the devs thought was an adequate explanation of game mechanics, and that's why the game ended up being really polished the way it was.

@@endorb yeah I saw the GMTK video about it - it was great, but they sort of presented it as being strange and unusual. My first boss ran testing like this and afaik it’s how testing works at any serious software company too!

The Microdoses are great. I've had around 8 different playtest builds over the course of many months before i finally found a gameplay loop that didn't outright bore people. It's been rough and still needs refinement. I'm keen on sending you something in a week.

As Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw put it: *Focus on the primary gameplay loop.*
