Q:What camera do you use?
A: I use the Go Pro Hero 7 Black Edition primarily. Often times you will see auxillary cameras in use. Those cameras include The Go Pro Hero 6, Hero, and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
Q: How big Is your rotator?
A: It is a 50 ton Miller Industries Vulcan 950
Q: Does the carriage slide back like Ron Pratt's?
A: No, the carriage doesn't slide back due to strict weight laws in California. The sliding carriage will make the truck to heavy in CA
Q: Why do you only have 3 winches on the rotator?
A: Comes down to weight again as stated above
Q: How many trucks Does Plaza Towing have?
A: Currently more than 30
Q: Why must the driveshaft be removed to tow a vehicle?
A: When vehicles are not running the transmission is not receiving circulating lubricant. If the driveshaft is left installed, the transmission, which is not receiving lubricant, is still spinning. This allows it to get very hot which eventually will cause major damage to the transmission. Therefore, removing the driveshaft completely eliminates the transmission from spinning. Simply leaving it in neutral is not sufficient since the transmission still spins in neutral.

Info on Deere's. Usually your gear will be on the corner post. Displayed as F 1 for forward first or R 1 for reverse first ect. Rpm is usually above gear on the corner post. I always enjoy the content interesting things you end up doing.

If that Kenworth had a caterpillar or a N14. It is new so it got the new X15 which ain’t a bad motor. I’m a fan of the older motors. The old caterpillars are the motor.

An X15 will lean you forward in the seat though, damn good engine brake in those things. Love the old oil burners but you so rarely see them in California anymore.

BobsYourUncle yeah the x15 is a good motor. I work at a tow company too. It’s in the new 50 ton rotator. I drive that truck it’s a good motor. We have an older Kenworth with a 3406e cat in it. Thing is fun to drive I love that engine. I love Kenworth trucks too. Kenworth and peterbilt man.

Put dirty parts into someones expensive tractor and show up to the dealer and see if they call you back for the next tow. Guarantee they wont. Its all about professionalism and treating their equipment like its your own. If it takes a few extra minutes its fine by me.

What happens if you don't tilt the deck up while running the axles back?
@plazatowing

It all depends on the weight distribution of the load. But more than likely it will pop the trailer off of the fifth wheel plate. Thank you for watching

I have never worked in the recovery industry, I was always in a factory (retired now after 40 years) so that is why my question might sound a little dumb to you Trent. When you are putting a piece of equipment on a landoll trailer, why don't you level the bed instead of leaving it tilted before you start chaining it down?
@plazatowing
@plazatowing 4 жыл бұрын
I always treat every vehicle as if the brakes are non-functional. This is a safety thing that I have always done to help prevent accidents if a brake failure were to occur. Additionally sometimes it’s just easier especially with oversize vehicles to chain things down with the deck down due to lower deck heights and ease of access. Thank you for watching!
