As someone who bought this game on 3 diffrent platforms and completed it on each, yes it is worth playing. It is a worthy successor to the JSR series and a must play for all who like the series

@FSVR54 Yes, the game is meant to be casual and easy going like the games it's inspired by. AC6 is not really a good comparison because that a high octane action mech game. It's like comparing a Tony Hawk game to Steel Battalion

@@FSVR54the game has a pretty good but short story, and then after you finish that it basically becomes a collectathon (has A TON of stuff to collect), which means that most of your time is spent exploring and finding secrets in the map. If you get it on pc however there’s a lot more to do with mods

Jet Set Radio was so ahead of its time. Running around a cell shaded Tokyo is still one of the funniest times I had in my gaming life. So glad BRC stay grounded to its roots

about the combat: the main problem is that normal cops and armored units are hard to take down, and the method to take them out quickly is never explained to the player. that said doing any grounded trick and then jumping (no low jumps given by holding the slide button) starts a corkscrew jump, sending troops into the air, ripe for a fresh tag. alternativley, they can be sent by boosting into them, after which you just have to jump to start tagging them.

This was a huge oversight on the part of the devs. If only they'd given us a little phone prompt explaining how to properly fight cops, like they did with pretty much every other mechanic in the game, dozens of reviewers may _not_ have decided that "the combat is bad" and discouraged who knows how many potential fans from buying the game.

This game wasn't on my radar, but the day it came out I saw it on Steam, knew immediately what it was going for, and bought it right away. Easily my best game purchase in a while. It's so good dude. I 100%'d it w/ all collectables and achievements and I can't wait to get the sudden urge to start a new file on it later to do it all over again.

w00t w00t! Yuri returns! Between the utter garbage being schloped out by the AAA industry these gems of indies and "AA" games have been picking up the slack! Bomb Rush really went "I wanna be a fresh Jet Set Radio!" then proceeded to not only do it but NAIL IT

So I know for a fact you've heard my two cents on Future countless times in Discord & probably even back when we used Skype but for anyone browsing the comments who like Yuri hasn't touched Future, let someone who had it as one of their first Xbox games (I first played the OG game via the Steam release) add in his thoughts to further sell you on this amazing as hell indie game. Future already had fixed a good chunk of the OG game's jank control wise. Movement was smooth & we even had a speed boost you could use at the cost of 10 spray cans (spraying graffiti cost different amounts of cans depending on the size in both games & Future just added a boost as an option to spend it on for making your jumps go further or stuff like the races you could do both in single player & multiplayer). As someone with LOTS of nostalgia for Future, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk to me controls like Future did but with even more tweaks to the controls to make it feel just that extra bit better while also effectively merging the flow of both OG's more arcade-like story format with Future's interconnected regions (OG was very much a "pick the stage" type game while Future game you missions & collectibles like here. Bomb Rush just also kept some of the OG's arcade feel with stuff like the score attack battles for required crew fights instead of "beat us in a one lap race"). TL;DR this game mixes the style & fun of both games while still doing enough to be its own thing that's just heavily inspired by JSR & is basically the best JSR without actually being called JSR (also as Yuri said the OST fucking SLAPS! Three of my personal faves that aren't the Naganuma tracks for I will always have Naganuma bias being Lights Out by Skavo & Navo the Maestro, Next to Me by Leopard DaVinci, & You Can Say Hi by Soia.)

I bought the game today on Xbox One and played it for 3 hours and im just in Chapter 2. I just chilled in the game, doing tricks, exploring and just dancing. Its that good. The mixtapes are really executed well. However, about 7 songs aren't available for me on Spotify 2 of 2hich are Hideki Naganuma's (Get enuf and Da People) but thats the only complaint I have of the game and it ismt related to it lol

I’ve bought the game on switch, ps5, and steam. 100% completed the switch version, platinum on ps5, and working with a friend on multiplayer to hook him up with all of the achievements. I adore this game and hope Team Reptile gets the time to relish in their well-deserved praise.

I loved JSRF on the original Xbox but haven't played it in over 20 years, and was really looking forward to Bomb Rush Cyberfunk since I first heard about the project years ago... but releasing sandwiched between Baldur's Gate 3 and Starfield is about as rough as it gets. If it had come out a month or so earlier I likely would've picked it up at launch and played through it, but now I feel like I might as well wait for a sale. First world problems, I know.

Future was an improvement in every sense. But yes the soundtracks make up for every shortcoming. The release of the 1st didn't feel right due to missing iconic songs. Bomb rush feels like a good sequel. Great for old heads like me and new players too.

Hell yeah I love this game. I'd argue to the death against JSR/F being jank or bad in any way, but BRC definitely surpassed them. I 100%ed this game over the weekend it came out and it was legendary.

I loved playing brc. Highly recommend. My only issue is story based. I don't feel like dj cyber story was explained or explored enough. Hopefully there's dlc content one day?

The fact you haven’t played jsrf and didn’t get to experience the game 😭you can kinda experience it if you wanted to by playing jsrfm it’s multiplayer for jsrf it’s super fun and can be played like the old one in a sense try it out. If you wanted to can play it man !!

If you buy any version full price buy steam Reasons 1. PC master race (I’m sorry) 2. There are a good chunk of mods for the game which does include a multiplayer mod so yeah enjoy that
