I love how you got more casual with time. Years ago when I first saw your brownie recipe I remember thinking you were pretty stiff and sorta almost afraid of the camera but you have gotten so comfortable with the presentation. It makes for a very pleasant experience.

I had a bunch of plums that needed to be used so decided to give this a try. Thanks for the recipe, it’s yummy! I only had a larger springform pan (9” or 10”?) so increased the recipe by half and it worked out well! Took the full 55 minutes to bake. Made it this evening and snuck a warm piece... can’t wait to have it tomorrow morning with my coffee! Wish I could share the photos I took of it!

My husband made this cake, turned out perfectly just instead of 200 gr sugar he added 75 gr and brown. You are the first that your recipes don’t go wrong.

Thank you for this beautiful plum coffee cake recipe and the instruction video. It turned out beautifully. We put slightly sweetened yoghurt on top, while the cake was still warm on the slices. Perfect for cool autumn day.

I backed it with 50% the amount of sugar and a zest of a lemon,,, deliciuso!! With vanilla ice cream even a grand dessert,, fluffy moist and looks great... Thank you very much

i tried the recipe with your tweek so i added lemon zest and cut down on the sugar but the cake turned sour and tart , so I won't recommend your twist. I would try it next time using the original recipe

Thank you for this video! My favorite cake to eat and to make. I’ve made it probably ten times now just since March. I’ve made it with out eggs and instead used “flax seed egg”. Turned out very good also. I also didn’t have almond flour a few times and it tasted great without it too. I’d love to see more simple cake recipe videos thanks!

I actually baked this today. Yummy. I left out the almonds for my neighbours grandchildren who are "nut" allergic. It is tasty and not too sugary. Thanks for posting!

Watching this it was like watching a best wise friend baking for me and teaching me at the same time, knowing that i have no idea how to use the kitchen 😄 Also i love your voice ! Thank you sooooo much !!! I am going to try this right now ! I have some plums from my mom's plum tree and i had no ideea how to use it. I made it for the second time today and WOW! This is a wonderful recipe, the cake is so moist and has the perfect amount of sugar. I dust a little powdered sugar on top and its also very good warm. Thanks so much you recipes never fail me! 💜💜💜

This is the first time I made this recipe - it's in the oven now, as I type this... kids called for the peach version so that's what I made. As it happens, I had some peach yogurt too. Honestly, I can hardly wait for the next 30 minutes... yum!!

I love that cake with nectarines or apricots! But with a twist! A splash of rhum in the batter and no plain brown sugar on top but like 10min before the end of baking I pour on it a mixture of melted butter and sugar! Caramel haven! One of the only cake I know where you can complain there is not enough crust ;)

I didn't have some things for this recipe, but I subbed the yogurt for sour cream and heavy cream mixed with a little black walnut extract! It was sooo good! One of the best cakes I've made in a long time thank you so much for the inspiration!

Superb! I have just made this & it worked SO well. Seeing it all step by step did make it really easy. I had a jar of Mirabelles that needed using & this was the perfect way to do so - I also had to use sucralose in the batter & that worked, too. I did sprinkle a little demarara over the top, which gave the whole thing a lovely crunchy finish.

Funny thing is that I do this kind of cake for very long time, I am in Croatia. It does not have to be plums, it is very good with other fruits as well like peaches, cherries and all kind of berries. But I like fruits to stay in sugar and spices (cinnamon, vanilla, rum) for the time I make butter. Soooo delicious and so easy!

Hi, well like you said, that cake doesn't seem to be hard to make. I will porbably make it but replace the sugar for Splenda because my husband's diabetic and he love plums, so yes its a great recipes. Thanks for sharing ! ♥

Thanks for this great cake looks so fancy . I made a mistake I bake the cake at 350 degrees took longer but still was delicious. Next time I would bake it at proper temperature

It will be prettier if at least half the plums are skin side up. Line the bottom of the pan with the fruit, and just use a glass baking dish, for an upside down cake variation. A sprinkle of powdered sugar on top, and a drizzle of plum syrup is great. That can be made easily during baking. I always add some warming spices like nutmeg and ground ginger, and vanilla to any fruit cake. Cut bits of butter on top before baking for unreal numminess, if you have extra butter. You can sprinkle Nutmeg or cinnamon lightly over the top also. Aromas are great. I don't bother with springform pans, tho i like the presentation yours allows. AuntieBellum.

Oh wow that looks delicious. I love how you give metric measurements as well as the imperial. Saves me having to convert the measurements. I am an Australian and love to find things that are different to the things we have here. You are Canadian right ? Something about your accent, I recognise. I

Can I substitute anything for the (full fat) yogurt? I am extremely lactose intolerant. I sometimes use coconut milk yogurt but I don't know if that has enough fats?

You could add some plum essence. I've never baked using a microwave so I don't know how it would work.

Collette H Your recipe looks easy so will give this a try as I have loads of plums from our tree & will use some here. Only query I have... It's called Plum "coffee" cake but coffee isn't given in recipe nor was it mentioned when demonstrating.

In North America coffee cakes are a type of cake you eat with a cup of coffee. They don’t typically contain coffee.

Because this is a pitted fruit you could add a half or quarter teaspoon of fresh grated nutmeg.

Hi, Stephanie! I'd like to bake this cake for a friend who is lactose intollerant. Is it possible to substitute fruit juice for the milk? I also thought about using almond milk, but I am afraid it would tamper with the plum flavour. What is your advice on that? Thanks a lot from São Paulo, Brazil!

Hi, Catherine. I like trying new recipes and baking cakes and cookies is a sort of hobby. Since I cannot treat myself to a lot of sugar at the risk of having my clothes constantly readjusted (LOL), I usually share them with friends or colleagues at work. It just happen that two of my friends are lactose intollerant and really enjoy a good cake, so I have been adapting some of my old recipes to them and always try to find one that is totally lactose free. I have an orange cake that asked for milk and I changed that for orange juice so that they could eat it. I agree with you, cooking for others is an act of love and I love sharing the joy :)
