there was this guy, Scott Ingram, and he like, inspired this song. So, this song was directed at him indirectly. So, when O'malley found out from his friend that it was based on a real guy, Scott Ingram, he was like "oh." and so, Scott is named after a song named after a guy who also inspired the name of Todd Ingram the vegan.

I have been in love with a long time internet friend (12 years) who lives in another country. We are both adults now with our own separate successful lives and partners. It totally fits in with themes of Pilgirm - for instance the pining that each of the characters has for someone else. Our two main characters are in rebound mode, while you also have Knives, and I'm pretty sure Kim, having feelings for Scott. One an infatuation, and the other just maybe the real thing. Also it is just a great fun song that fits the books tone.
