If I'm not mistaken, they also did not take away any Servants/CEs players rolled with the bugged SQ, so there is that small silver lining even if some players have gone into SQ debt. This was obviously a major bug and I agree they had to do SOMETHING; I think not doing anything the first time around was a mistake. But I also personally think a lot of people are making noise and being salty for the sake of being mad because they don't get to "have their cake and eat it" so to speak.

Honestly, this was the right call on Lasengle's part. One thing I don't see people talking about in comments is; If Lasengle didn't take back the bugged SQ and other rare materials, they are indirectly encouraging people to abuse any bug in the future, because there will be no consequences. (And with how bad the spaghetti code is, it's not a matter of if, but when it happens again.) Now we know there will be consequences, and it makes the game fairer for everyone. And people saying that it shouldn't matter because it's a single player game, know that the majority of JP players who did the right thing and didn't abuse this bug intentionally were livid when they found out that the small few who did would get away with it. That could risk those vast majority to stop supporting the game. So IMO, Lagengle did the right thing.

No it’s just that the code is extremely outdated. It was made with 2014 mobile game standards. Also the expected lifespan of fgo was estimated to be at best 3 years long. It was basically just a ticking time bomb. They did have a little revamp (i believe it was this or last year) where they updated a bunch of the code for upcoming content. But you can’t just completely rework the entire code of the game with a snap of the finger. It doesn’t have any thing to do with bad payment lmao. If anything, the pay is probably decent or good because of how small the team is

A rollback would piss off the paying part of the playerbase more (the worst outcome since they paid for it). This is the best solution as it enforces they won't tolerate abusing of unintended loopholes but they'll also tolerate it if it was an inconvenience and they don't flaunt it like a deer with headlights.

Can you imagine if people with negative SQ could still roll? Seeing as they are in the negative, the reduction in SQ doesn't result in a "floor" of what is possible to roll. They are essentially underneath the zero "floor", leading to the ability to roll indefinitely as the negative theoretically has no limit to it. (-9999 SQ or more depending on how greedy DW/Lasanga were in adding digits to the counter.) Infinite summoning until your account gets perma-banned! Or underflow the counter! Just keep rolling and getting USOs. One can dream that Lasagna is foolish enough to let that happen.

What about giving everyone who didn’t use bugs 120 SQ, a USO and like 5 grails? It’s not a lot of quartz, grails only let you level up servants you have, and most players will never get anywhere close to 10 USO, so while it’s technically an SSR equivalent, aka 900SQ, it doesn’t actually eat into their profits in any realistic way. That way you avoid the absolute black hole of negative PR that negative sq brings you.
