Yknow I always wondered why Dende’s aging always seemed much more normal during his time as guardian. I mean we’re introduced to him as a child but he doesn’t seem to age to his full adult form by the buu saga. Rather he looks like a teenage or adolescent version of himself. In contrast piccolo only needed 3 years to grow fully. Odd but I’m probably overthinking it

Well part of that confusion is also on Toriyama's indecisiveness with Dende's design in the Buu Saga, but Toei is also partly to blame imo. There are shots of Dragon Ball Super where Dende is like ridiculously short and wearing his Namek clothes so it looks like Kid Dende is just hanging out

GOKU AND Piccolo knowing what a family is, I don't think ether of them would kill Raditz, I think they would let him live, and knowing how he got beat Raditz is the time that would escape. Radits also knows how Vegeta would react to his loss killing him, so I think Raditz in time would also try to join them to better the chances of him surviving.

I did consider this possibility but Piccolo like Kami is first and foremost focused on keeping the earth safe. This saiyan poses a threat and as such is eliminated especially after establishing himself as untrustworthy and here to induct his brother into a life of evil. Neither Kami or Piccolo would have a huge amount of sympathy for this, it's actually a theme that has been pretty consistent with this version of Piccolo, Justice is very important to him. I do get where you're coming from though

Also when Raditz arrived at Kame house Piccolo wouldnt have just stayed in the air and watched He would have helped goku if not fought off raditz sooner in the mountain quarry

That's what happened, I didn't elaborate on it but Goku and Piccolo with Gohan were visiting Kame House together so when Raditz landed they teamed up and beat him before anyone else got hurt then Piccolo for the sake of protecting earth killed him.

@@PlusUltraMan here's another thing that may be used in a part two and that's the namek arc maybe when Piccolo is killed by nappa in this timeline he doesn't isolate himself on King Kais planet but actually trains with him and the other Z-fighters killed by nappa and even tho it's never been stated if he could use it but he could learn and master the Kaioken technique like Goku in the canon timeline

I could see Piccolo sparing Raditz because of early memories of senior combined with mental training from Kami allowing him to view Raditz subconscious seeing him as just an overgrown boy lashing out at Universe scared that is he is weak and all alone. Crying out for Gine & Bardock possibly not unlike senior when he was first born and discarded. Sparing him and making it is Mission to show him kindness that the universe never showed his father and grandfather by extension. Making it is first Act Defiance as well as divine grace. And at the end of giving Goku a connection to his real heritage and giving Gohan a true uncle

I did think of this actually but ultimately decided against it. Piccolo is by no means ruthless but he is very justice oriented and protective of his new family. This is actually a theme that sticks with his character in this timeline. Especially after Raditz shows himself to be untrustworthy Piccolo would definitely not be soft. Also as I said Piccolo doesn't really remember anything about KP Senior like Goku doesn't remember much about Bardock, the concept is there but not the emotional bond behind it. Also I think another thing to consider here is that Tien and Chiatzu are the only remdeption stories in this timeline so far, Piccolo starts off good and we haven't gotten to Vegeta yet. So there is simply no extremely compelling reason to leave someone stronger than you who is also dishonest alive only for them to stab you in the back

@@PlusUltraMan when it comes to Raditz I do see it was an overgrown child and with your concept I could see Piccolo eventually turning Raditz into his Vegeta in a sense. With extended interactions and kindness humbly him allowing him to be redeemed allowing himself to have a sense of family he subconsciously desired as well as possibly being Piccolo's default training partner. Both of them not having any sense of being alone regardless of the path the Son Family take to areas that they can't follow because of their nature. But I wouldn't allow him to heal from their fight with anything like a senzu bean because one of the keys good old Vegeta's humility was the amount of downtime he had before he got to the Medical pod. The rest has to do with the kindness they showed him and their extended interactions and also getting him laid.

@@Doctor_Odin I do agree with your analysis of Raditz as a character but I don't think you have a good grasp on the character of this Piccolo. He is not someone willing to put others in danger for the sake of a gamble like that of Raditz maybe being able to turn over a new leaf. Raditz has done nothing to warrant any mercy so I see no legitimate reasoning to read his mind unless to check if he was lying about more saiyans coming. (And he didn't even do this in the original timeline so there is no basis for this) So after that nugget of info is learned I don't see Raditz sticking around too much longer

I would have made Raditz medical recovery take years with Piccolo being the only one visiting him because let's face it if it weren't for senzu beans and then dende's healing not to mention the space Tech. The Z Fighters and spend over half their lives in recovery. With him finally getting his shot to join in the form of an ultimatum during A desperate all-hands-on-deck moment for the Earth and Z Fighters

A fourth option should have been continued what they were doing just add the Z warriors and gohan too the training part of the day. Because the multi form technique has to be a chi draw for the two of them. Granted they’ve got more chi to work with but there has to be a limit on the technique otherwise why not have goku train it up to perfection and only allow a form to fight at all. Then if the fighting from is destroyed then goku just makes another form to continue the fighting.

Real question is how would that work? While Piccolo was dead I'm not sure where Kami was but I think he was hanging out with King Yemma. That would also make the Earth Dragon Balls useless for a while and I'm not sure Kami would agree to it he was really adamant about Piccolo being fully changed before they fused. I'd be willing to do the timeline in a What If One shot though 👌🏿

I have an OC I've been thinking about here lately. This is more of an AU scenario than just a what if. Her name is Grine and she's the long lost sister of Vegeta. She was born a with a genetic defect where she was missing one of her legs and she had a verry low power level. So emberessingly low a PL that to add insult to injury her Father King Vegeta wanted nothing to do with her and so had her ejected off in space to land on some random planet somewhere. He didn't even care where she wound up. She winds up landing on Earth where she was found near a coffee store. Her new family would give her the name Grine. Later she would meat Bulma briefs who she becomes fast friends with and who makes her a prosthetic leg as well as robotic crutch arms that were origanaly modified to give her extra reach and later down the line get upgraded further for combat. She also would later get friendly with Yamtcha after Bulma would dump him for Vegeta. Things would get akward at that point because of a distance between Vegeta and Grine. Vegeta never knew Grine personaly growing up but he is emberessed by the fact she turns out to be his family and is so week. Even though Grine does get stronger over timethe power she was born with was deemed verry unsayin like. She's way lower than Gokuat the start of Z and thus weeker than Raditz and Gine' . Though She does have other ways of get the drop on other charecters. While she is a fighter she's also verry social going and strategic.

I considered that as an alternative title but the meanings and outcomes were nearly the same, the deciding factor for me was that it'd be more interesting for Piccolo to grow closer to Kami as a father figure and Goku as a sibling figure if they kinda helped him through his residual feelings and emotions from King Piccolo while just removing the idea of KP's "influence" so to speak. My goal was to make Piccolo's journey much more his own rather than something he's set on because of his father and then one he's on because of other circumstances that aren't really dictated by his choices if that makes sense.

I'm fully aware Piccolo's birth is abnormal because the source material does everything to make it seem as such, but nothing suggests Jr. Could have only been born as evil.
