Malcolm Turnbull's outdated views on domestic violence

I was a victim of domestic violence in Australia. I'm well able to look after myself, but none of my martial arts training taught me what to do when the woman trying to attack me with weapons starts screaming "you're hurting me" when I try to restrain her. The neighbours think I was beating her, if the police were called, they would have believed her. My abuser had all of the power. I couldn't even just walk away because she threatened to make false accusations to the police if I did. She used to cut herself with knives, so her arms were constantly covered in cuts that she said she would blame me for. She used to recite monologues that were part of some sort of sick fantasy that involved me abusing her. For instance, if telling me what time she would be home, she would add "I guess I better be home by x time to have dinner ready so I don't make you angry". Which was weird, because she didn't cook me dinner, ever. We used to cook our own meals separately at her behest. She had a very acute view of ownership, what was hers and what was mine was mine. We didn't even share a tv. She had her own tv and I had my own tv and she'd go insane if I watched hers. We slept in separate rooms. We shared a fridge, but definitley not food. Her food was her food.

Turnbull is a disgrace and Shorten is no better. I'll be choosing who to vote for at the next election on this issue alone.
