I’ve watched all your tutorials and they are so good, thanks a lot! One question: is there a specific moment when you should do the approach briefing (like x minutes before the T/D)?
@A330Driver
@A330Driver 2 жыл бұрын
You should start latest 80NM before the T/D, however earlier can't hurt. Sometimes I do it as early as 150NM before it and sometimes even earlier. You need to consider two factors: 1) Give yourself enough time so that you're finished with everything once you reach the T/D 2) Don't do it so early that you forget everything by the time it becomes relevant (aka by the time you start the final approach) If you need to review your destination airfield in closer detail because you only rarely fly there, or if you're going there for the very first time, start doing so even earlier. If you have an hour in cruise there's absolutely nothing that would prevent you from using it for the approach preparation.
@peterspatz6918
@peterspatz6918 2 жыл бұрын
I do this in Sim early in cruise because you have time, and on a 3 hour hops i recheck 100NM prior to TD if weather changed on destination an plan alternate approach, besides in sim ATC can do random changes and you always have to be ahead of what ma happens.

Really enjoying your videos. One question, but not related to your video specifically, but do you know if the devs plan on adding other options like being able to show/hide the fuel flow indicators on the upper engine display? I’ve seen quite a few airframes with that option.
@A330Driver
@A330Driver 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, more options will be added later. The Fuel Flow option is one of them, others will be the Multi mode Reciever, glareshield without annoying knobs, the new clock, etc.

Hi.. Thanks for tutorials.. İ want to ask about forecast page... Why dont you set yojr wind and isa sev?
@A330Driver
@A330Driver 2 жыл бұрын
I'm explaining it literally the moment I'm showing it. If the answer in the video does not answer your question please phrase it a bit more precise. ISA DEV is not needed, it doesn't make much of a difference so we don't use it.

Quick question. Will I be able to use the MSFS flight planner if I want to?
@A330Driver
@A330Driver 2 жыл бұрын
No, the planner is so carry, it mostly comes up with invalid routes. The FMC only accepts routes that are valid to the AIRAC you're using. I highly recommend simbrief to generate flightplans.

Hi, I am still confused why you changed the Landing Weight to 53.8? Can you explain @737NG Driver?
@A330Driver
@A330Driver Жыл бұрын
Because I want to know the flap reference speeds for the weight of the plane on landing, not the current weight.

@@A330Driver First of I'd like to sincerely thank you for responding so quickly! Your tutorials are AWESOME! I understood that part, but what I didn't catch is why -600, or rather - where did you get that number (if you still remember)? Thanks again :)
@lifeofranco
@lifeofranco Жыл бұрын
@@galmubi5406 600 is the difference between how much there is in the tanks and how much there will be after landing. So u minus 600 to get the flap setting and speed when you land if that makes sense. If you do not minus the 600, then the FMC gives speed for the current weight, which is not really helpful as by the time we have got to landing, out weight will be different and therefore different speed.

I really like your videos and style of presentation (it feels very German in a good way! :D) - looking forward a lot to the module in MSFS as well One thing I've always wondered: why is everything so "ghetto" and antiquated looking (and working) as compared to an Airbus? Everything seems to make much more sense to me in an Airbus, and looks much more user-oriented and user-friendly as well Still looking forward to it a lot and looking forward to dive into the differences!
@A330Driver
@A330Driver 2 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind it's still based on an airplane designed in the 60's. The overhead is still pretty similar to the original 737-100. Originally Boeing wanted to use the 777 cockpit design in the 737NG, but airlines wanted to keep the differences training as little as possible. AND: It just works.
@Piergeiron
@Piergeiron 2 жыл бұрын
@@A330Driver fair enough, it sure does! And ease of crew training probably is very important, which is why ever Airbus is basically the same internally as well, from what I understand. Thanks for replying! :)
