Thanks for posting. Sorry to see so many negative comments. We practice both ITF and WT forms. I have learned much of what I need for this form in particular, thank you. I suppose every style will vary slightly, depending on the Grand Master. I'm grateful to find a video without all the "bouncing" between movements, as not every style incorporates those. Pilsung!

Forget the ignorant jerks in the comments who think General Choi's way and the ITF is the only way Chang Hon TaeKwonDo is taught, as if there aren't tons of variants of Chang Hon TaeKwonDo. You have great technique, sir.

0:36 that is not a low block, it is a downard punch.

Just to expand on what others have said, moves 6 and 7 should be forefist pressing block and middle section side front inner forearm block. Not high section low section forearm blocks. Your facings are also incorrect when in x-stance, although I suppose that could be a trick of the camera.

No I like this guy. Wish he did more videos. Too many out there stuck in a damn box. Be creative. Stop nit picking. So what if a couple freakin moves aren't exactly the way you were taught. Whoopty shit

It’s interesting to see how similar this looks to the three Naihanchi kata. I wonder what applications could be gleaned from this, and if they bear any resemblance. Kamsahamneda for the tutorial!

I’ve heard that TKD borrowed heavily from Naihanchi.

ITF taekwondo was formed from korean karate black belts. All taekwondo forms were created post 1955 to replace the japanese katas by rearranging the katas techniques into new sets. Chang Hon forms of ITF taekwondo like Po-un is literally taken from Naihanchi but reorganized with some added techniques. it is not a secret

Shouldn't the side kicks be lower? I thought the form was to simulate fighting on horseback. Otherwise, great video. I watched it a handful of times and muscle memory took over.
@markgreene5739 жыл бұрын
No. One doesn't move on horseback.

Kicking isn't side kick, it's checking kick. Other than that, this helped me slightly :-)

I trained with Byung Mu Lee, Gen. Choi right hand man, and he helped create this hung. This guy is way off in his demonstration of this Hyundai.

Всё неправильно!!!!!!!!! Прежде чем показывать( обучать) туль на видео другим,надо прежде всего иметь представление что такое туль
@andrewwheeldon395710 жыл бұрын
It should be a pressing kick (low section) i would not use this guy's videos to work on your patterns, they're not quite right, some of them are a long way from being right.
@matthewlawer83259 жыл бұрын
Depending on your taekwondo federation, you do patterns slightly differently. For example, the GTI and the ITF do slightly different kicks etc.

Er there is a book - written by the man who developed TaeKwon-Do 'The encyclopedai of Tae-Kwon-Do' These other organisations can't just change things willy nilly!!!!! 'Right chaps were going to try this new fangled game called footbaall but when WE do it we can run with the ball in our hands or in a string bag hanging from our mouths but only until we get to the 18 yard box where we have to hop the rest of the way before were allowed to shoot - okay? Let's try it!' see you can't change it. sorry

Terrible. Stances suck, side kicks ( these absolutely suck ) are too high. Take this down
