I have plenty of criticisms, but I genuinely think she did a better job that Biden 2024, Hillary 2016, and even Biden 2020 who was helped a ton by the pandemic. People won't want to hear it, but the national environment was extremely Republican and conservative. Liberal ballot measures were losing in CALIFORNIA. I genuinely don't think anyone bar an Obama-level talent could change the outcome of a race this decisive.

I went to their pod debrief today here in New Zealand to get a feel for things…I highly recommend it. Tonight, Lovett is on fire for which I thank him! I’m not American but have lived in the States, did an undergraduate degree majoring in American Studies (back in the 1970s!) and have relatives and friends who live in the States. I have been following this for a few years now and feel gutted that just over half of American voters appear to have not thought of the collective good, but have put their faith in a felon who is promising to dismantle the ‘establishment’. I think anyone who acts out of anger will make misguided decisions. This seems to be a mass version of misdirected anger and fear. It leaves me worried, and if Trump doesn’t make the distance, his VP is as dangerous. One insufferable MAGA Republican at a time, please! And finally, focus on the 2026 mid-terms. Push back like the Dems have done before. 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿NZ

There are many factors but some of the key factors are governments fiscal, monetary policy and other government regulations like tariffs etc. Gov does play a major role no matter the party in power at the time it begins. They could take measures to slow and stop inflation. All that said, you are partially correct and have the right attitude as both sides are capable of bad policy.
