Podanur was spoiled by Coimbatore chamber of commerce, they think that Podanur is not a part of Coimbatore, and it's as though very far away.

Terminating trains can go to Coimbatore junction, anf passing trains can stop at Podanur junction without going to Coimbatore. Podanur was really, adamantly discarded by the Chember of commerce, to give importance to Coimbatore junction. To go to Coimbatore junction by the passing trains is very foolish but it was caused by the chamber of commerce, from 1970 to 2000, as though Podanur is not a part of Coimbatore. One should not decry the railway administration but the narrow mindedness of the chamber of commerce.
