@@RodrigoMatiasLeote1986 I'm not the best person to ask but I can say Q2U works on Android. Maybe it'll work on PS5 then?? The reason I said what I said is that a cheap dynamic mic with a cardioid pickup pattern will do a better job for the vast majority of people who aren't recording music or something serious like that. It's because it'll be better at rejecting background noise and will improve how your voice sounds just as much as many condenser mics at higher prices. Good luck with your mic hunt!

This was the first mic I bought, great mic very reliable. I "grow" to not like its sound, so I set it aside and stop using it. But a few months ago I give it another chance and turns out it's a great outside bass drum mic (1ft away) and acoustic nylon guitar mic. I love how it sounds on those, that harsh top end actually gives a nice detail on not so bright instruments that need to cut through a mix. My recomendation for a dark sounding condenser for the same price is the akg p170.

The 2020 still manages to hold its spot, imo, the ones which sounded better than it were the 770, Worker bee, & Ember in its price range, i would not compare it to the 200 or higher tier mics, however, if that needs to be done, the NT1 just does so well, it would have been great if the 2035 was thrown into the comparisons, another really promising microphone for its price. The higher tier ones, like KSM32 or 103 or U87 are definitely good, but i am still not convinced that they are 5, 11 or 36 times good, especially when using for spoken word applications like podcasting or streaming, so if someone has a 2020 and they are getting the sound out of it that they want, there is prob no need to upgrade but the competition is doing pretty good at this point, especially the worker bee or the ember. Great video as always brother, hoping u r keeping well & doing good!

Great comparison as usual! My first condenser mic was (I still have it) a MXL990 from around 2006 and maybe I am biased, but to me still sounds great for the price, that mic has a rich bottom-end and nice clarity and, for some reason, I noticed that particular mic is not as noisy as the recent black model that I bought last year, and again the clarity is better. At least to my ears and talking about spoken word. For guitars, for instance, I dont like it at all. However I think the best value still is the NT1, in your case as you pointed out, fits perfectly fine for your voice, I can hear you for hours.

My first microphone as well 2035(multipattern), but as years went on and I have learned the curve of quality vs quantity, I think the cad m179, neat worker bee and se x1 are there biggest competition in that price range although I would pay the extra and get the 2035. Nicely done. I've always thought the AT2020 was a good sounding value. I don't know where else we could go to hear so many comparisons for podcast use. Like others, below, I have the Q2U for desktop use. As a value proposition, it's quite the deal ($70). And, it sounds good on my voice. Better, it doesn't need an interface to get into a computer USB. It's plug and play. Has a headphone output, that can also carry sound from the computer speaker driver. If you're a Rodecaster jock, the Q2U has an XLR to plug into that. Sound? It does exceedingly well on my voice. It's dynamic, so it'll likely take a beating. It can be handheld. Pop resistance is fair. It wouldn't be my choice for acoustic music, but that's not its design intent. I'd like to see a comparison of the Q2U versus the other mics you have here, including the AT2020.

"These amazing people" are truly amazing -- they have the power of invisibility today! Neewer: worse, just sounds lower-res in general MXL990: slightly better than the AT2020. Maybe fuller/richer or more "forward," whatever that means MXL770: also better than the AT2020. The AT2020 sounds like it has a high-pass filter by comparison Worker bee: worse than the AT2020. Sounds thinner, maybe in the mids Blue Ember: A little better than the AT2020, but only a little. Don't really like either one, though. Sounds like it has a boost in the highs. Tech Zone X2: toss-up; listened twice and preferred a different one each time NT1: Couldn't tell a huge difference at first, but after the switched back to the AT2020, the AT2020 sounded harsher KSM32: Sounds smoother overall. TLM-103: The 103 sounded like it had a filter that made everything sound slightly beige U87: Couldn't tell a big difference, both sounded a bit harsh. KZbin compression or something? In any case, obviously my ears are not trained.

I want a mic that is good for a female voice that will mostly be talking at a low volume, and has no closet or any area that can be noise treated or noise canceling. I would like to one day purchase the Shure SM7b but it’s not in my budget right now. But I would like a smooth, soft, not tiring sounding mic for less than $250, ideally around $100 though. Coming to you as a computer and network engineer, audio engineer building my own guitars and two amplifiers for over 35 years including a guitar luthier. And a lot more stuff lol.. First off I listen to all these recordings through studio monitors, in a few sets of old school and new school audio file studio headphones. So the naysayers saying he prayed listen through his phone or crappy headphones NO I DID NOT.. And I'm unbiased because I have a lot of these microphones. I have a lot of these microphones including the at2020. I never really did comparisons I usually just use the microphone that I want that sounds best for a certain person and if I don't have that microphone in hand EQ can fix most problems. AND IF YOU'RE GOOD RECORDING! That's the most important thing if you know how to record in a certain room with a certain voice. That takes time and expertise. ( So honestly and I'm dumbfounded. THE AT 2020 SOUNDED BETTER THAN ALL OF THOSE MICROPHONES!! As you were saying with the more expensive ones it has a smoother top end. I noticed a tiny bit more high-end In those microphones but to me it sounded if you will MORE IRRITATING A SOUND I DIDN'T LIKE AS MUCH! You can always EQ that out. It's almost like the at2020 EQ curve did all the work for you it sounded fantastic. Less irritation, less harsh had all the frequencies in your voice very natural very warm very close. Same thing with the music. Wow I am very surprised!! Want my opinion You could just use that at2020 And if you're good with EQ and how to record you wouldn't need any of those other vocal microphones seriously!! And you especially wouldn't notice the difference with a lot of music going on in the song. Good review unbelievable!!
