True but I feel like Saad is apart of his family Muslim “other life” Jay seems like a friend he’s with at school that adnan acts differently around. The things jay states adnan says to him seem like things he would say to impress jay or act all tough around his school friends “ keeping up appearances “ I think his family feels he couldn’t have done this because they know him as this all around good boy while at school he’s this player like sports guy that everyone likes I think that jay knew consequences of telling police he helped him and knew it wasn’t right. I think the verdict was correct adnan is guilty

I am from Pakistani Muslim family grew up in pretty similar conditions to him and conservative Muslim parents showing up at homecoming with the girl you love would destroy your ego and off course you would act to your friends and make it a like a funny incident that’s the easiest way to salvage your reputation from that incident. How do I know thats how I dealt with a similar incident when it happened to me.From what I have heard he seems to have decent reputation compared to most immigrants in high school. I think he’s was conflicted because maybe he had sex with other girls but that was temporary but he was serious with her it was blow to his ego and she left him it was humiliating for him he kept it inside him and only shared it with the guy he knew would least tell anyone or anyone else would talk to . Doesn’t seem that guy had a nice reputation or friends. He was conflicted and his mother shows that it was not a big deal the incident at the party may be she has come to terms with that now but to any Pakistani mother knowing her son is openly having sex and girls friends is a big deal even some of the liberal Muslim families and she seems conservative considering the part of Pakistan she’s from .

Who the hell is going to go openly admit to being an accessory to murder!?!? Why is no one asking Jay, why did you willingly go along with all this, why didn't you call the police then, before it happened!? Like, he is swooping in to being the good guy after everything happened and telling police, but if that was his character, he would have done it before she was killed! It makes no sense!!!!!! By the time he goes and tells cops he has already picked him up, drove him to do it, picked him back up, and went and help bury the body, which in the interrogation Jay said when they got to the place Adnan had told him to help and he said fuck no, but right after that he says yeah I helped, we dug about 6 inches......

Here is your issue he didn't openly admit to a crime. He was being interviewed by police which usually means you are asked or forced to come down and give a statement. Especially if one of your friends is a suspect in that crime. Clearly you have no bearing on how male relationships work. 90% of the time when a bro asks you to do something and you respond with a "fuck no" it usually means yes. Plus it was cold on that day so Jay more than likely said "fuck no" but then realized this would take forever and decided to join in and help.

Jay had Adnan's car. Adnan left his phone in the car explaining radio tower pings (only way to fight this in court is to say radio tower pings are unreliable). Jay is the murderer. Motive? Jay constantly boasted about noone being able to find any dirt on him... which points to something private. I think Hae rejected Jay in private and she didnt write it in her diary.

Bangtan rules You’re acting like adnan had no inconsistent statements. Adnan first said to a cop that he had asked Hae for a ride and then later denied ever asking Hae for a ride. It also seems odd that he would remember nothing from that day considering he got contacted by a police officer about his missing ex, and it was the same day he lended Jay his car and his brand new cellphone, AND it was the last day before they got snowed in for a few days. You see what I’m saying? The only reason adnan doesn’t have an inconsistent story is because he’s claiming he can’t recall anything from that day. Isn’t that a bit suspicious as well? Actually, Hae did describe him as possessive in her diary once, and several other times alluded to his controlling/possessive behavior and how much anguish it was causing her. Their friend Debbie read relevant excerpts of the diary at trial, and she testified under oath that Adnan was a controlling boyfriend and that he was paranoid about Hae's new crush Don.

Everyone around him said there was nothing menacing about him, nor weird. I do think that he might of been upset, that him being a player, sorta got played by Hae with the whole Don situation. Maybe he was one of those guys that are okay with playing girls, but will not stand for being played. But was that reason enough for Adnan to kill Hae?

There's just so many weird things about this case, that seem overlooked and noone is discusing . 1) (bit off topic) Noone has heard from Hae since 2 days and they're all having a gala dancing birthday party and looking ecstatic in pictures ?? Maybe understood for others but even adnan debbie etc looking happy and cheerful??? Wow some "friends"! 2) What about the duration between her disapperance and her body? It was a long time, 2 weeks. Noone is talking about it, but It would be interesting to know if Adnan expressed interest to anyone for helping find her or seemed worried and was making physical efforts to find out her whereabouts. That would be strong circumstansial evidence , since all those things would be expected from someone who loved her so much and was in a loving relatoinship just few weeks ago. 3) Why everyone is only focused on the 20 mins time-frame the murder happened. What about his whereabouts when Jay said they were out at Best buy or spending hours trying to get rid of evidence and burying the body. Does Adnan's family say he was home till late that night or was gone for several hours late? If he doesnt remember where he was at very late hours of the night , and his family says he was out a lot the whole evening, isnt that strong circumstantial evidence? Does anyone know about such information? 4) Imagine you love someone with all your heart for a long time, few weeks aftera breakup they end up murdered, you dont know who murdered her, wouldnt you go insane with rage and not rest and just think and talk about trying to find out the person who did that horrible murder of your loved one?? 5) Similar to point 4, imagine you lose everything and the world labels you murderer and you have to spend 30 years in jail when you are innocent,ONLY because ONE person said you did all that and was just lying about everything. Would'nt you have unspeakable resentment and hate towards that person to the point of wishing you could beat the living shit out of them? Now listen to adnan's audios, does he sound like that when Jay name comes up? Or even if the name doesnt come up, i would still keep telling the world that Jay is a horrible person every time i get an opportunity to speak.

For anyone thinking Adnan is Guilty I would like to point something out which neither helps nor hurts Adnan. It just clears this podcast and Sarah Koenig of ridiculous claims. First Sarah has been open to Adnan being innocent and guilty many times throughout the series. Even at the very end she doesn’t have a definite conclusion. Second, she is offering her perspective on this matter. How she feels, how other people who knew Adnan feel. That doesn’t mean she is forcing us to think Adnan is innocent or guilty. She’s offering her perspective and how she takes it. Also repeatedly offering two perspectives of innocent and guilty. The crew of podcast did a great job on this bringing this case up and how interesting it is. That does not mean they are too blame for people thinking Adnan is innocent. It’s unfair to them when they simply wanted to tell a story. But they didn’t write a narrative of Adnan being guilty or innocent. Because they probably did fear it would spark controversy. It’s so f*cked up how people will call this case biased. But I’ve listened to this enough times to know, it isn’t. And whoever keeps saying this is, is writing a narrative.

I know hes only joking but its somewhat true. I hate that. It's like making him choose between me and his religion. The second thing is the possessiveness. Independence (indiscernible) I'm a very independent person. I really rely on my parents. Although I love him, its not like i need him. I know I'll be just fine without him, and i need some time for myself and (indiscernible) other than him. How dare he get mad at ke for planning to hang with Aisha?" Even if thats an 'unimportant' detail, which id argue its not, there are several of Haes friends yhat did interviews explqining how Adnan would show up to Haes friends house when theyd be having a girls night and cinstantly paging her to see wuat she was doing even after theyd already spoken. Also a few times in which she had asked a teacher to not tell Adnan that she had been on the phone a few times if he had come by. In fairness thats pretty normal for highschool relationships, but i find it unfair to the victim and her story to not include her truth.

I vaguely remember listening to this a few years ago and am re listening for a research paper. Here's my opinion based on what I have already heard and what I remember Jay did it. 100% Weather he acted completely alone, I am not sure. There was one guy coming up in later episodes that makes me think he may have helped- he's the one who found her body. The way he acts and talks just seems so suspicious. I won't put him in there, though. Maybe he was too drunk when he found her to understand. I don't remember if he was drunk or not. I'll figure it out when I get to that episode. Anyways, I think Jay did it. He was jealous of Adnan and Stephanie's relationship and wanted to get him out of the way. Like Sarah says, "everything is the end of the world in highschool". So, he acted on how he felt. Maybe he was smart about it. He would be suspected if he killed Adnan. Plus, from Sarah's description of Adnan, he would have easily overpowered him too. So, he did the next best thing, he killed Adnan's ex and framed him. That way, he's out of the way. Hae was a lot smaller than Adnan and easier to move and the body. Then, since he already had Adnan's phone and car, as Adnan had left it with him to buy Stephanie a birthday present and the phone so he could call him when he needed a ride, everything he did after looked like Adnan did it. It was extremely easy to do. Whatever Jay did, tell them that it was Adnan.

But wait.the girlfriend of Jay is called Stephanie, as in the prom princess who was mentioned in Hae Mins diary? Who was somehow dumped by Adnan to be with Hae? Crazy theory: Stephanie was in love with Adan and more than jealous of Hae, so she got somehow in contact with Jay, ending up planning to murder Hae Min and blaming it on Adan as a punishment? The dna found on the wheel in Haes car, could be Stephanies, who parked it there, so the story would make sense?

@PodcastCentral Did anyone, or could someone examine the cell phone/social media messaging records between Asia and her boyfriend, Derek, on the afternoon of the murder? Any records of Asia messaging Derek to find out why he was late might help to establish her timeline in the library. Additionally, if Derek is anything like many jealous boyfriends, he would be unlikely to let the whole girlfriend-talking-to-somebody-else thing go with only one conversation. If Asia's initial report was accurate, I would think there is a good likelihood that further exchanges on the topic may have followed in subsequent days.

I mean what I don’t get is how could a man who was fasting, have the ability and the strength to strangle someone to death without leaving any physical evidence on the victim or having any marks on his body to suggest he was in a physical altercation. Especially given in the fact that the victim was a lacrosse player and physically fit as well. Combine that with the ever changing stories of Jay about the events in question and the fact that AT&T gave a warning saying that geolocation was not reliable at their towers when receiving calls. I have reasonable doubt on Sayd’s guilt

Well obviously not all Muslims are religious just like not all Jews or Christians. Adnan happened to come from a religious family. His mother wears hijab and his dad has a beard and is obviously devout. So no premarital sex/dating, drinking, or drugs. This is what I find silly about Adnans motive. Obviously he didn’t call Hae after she disappeared because he didn’t want any more association with Hae. He along with Don were probably scared/freaked out by the cops calling him that day and didn’t want the cops coming to his home or calling his house again so cut ties with Hae. He didn’t want to get in trouble With his parents let alone get in trouble with cops so why would he kill her? He was a senior excited to go to college and meet new girls and got the cell phone so he can talk to girls without his mom eavesdropping on the land line
